Happy Feast Day! And we as Catholic Christians have something to celebrate today! So often, I see at athletic and other events a sign saying Jn 3:16, “God so loved the world that He gave his only Son….” This verse begs the question, why did God send Him? Today, during our feast day, we hear the answer in Jn 6:51-58, “Amen, amen, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you do not have life within you.In other words, if you don’t receive the Blessed Sacrament, the Body and Blood of Christ, you will die spiritually! How? Perhaps, we can look at this Pandemic when the sacraments were barred from our reception, and still are for those who are in the high risk categories. The statement I heard most often was, “It’s good to see our church on the internet, but I still miss communion! We miss it because it feeds us! We’re nourished and sustained by the Sacrament of the Eucharist. Another person told me that they would never take communion for granted again. The longing is for the completion of God’s love through His Son! We long for forgiveness, acceptance, charity and love. We seek the surity of Christ’s sacrificial offering! Happy Feast Day! Facebook: www.facebook.com/blessedsacrament Livestream will be on Facebook at 10:00 a.m.

Reconciliation: Wednesday – 11:30 a.m.-Noon Saturday – 10:30-11:30 a.m.

This Sunday’s Feast of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ should make us all perk up a

bit because this is Blessed Sacrament Church’s Feast Day! Happy Feast Day! And we as

Catholic Christians have something to celebrate today!

So often, I see at athletic and other events a sign saying Jn 3:16, “God so loved the world that

He gave his only Son….” This verse begs the question, why did God send Him? Today,

during our feast day, we hear the answer in Jn 6:51-58, “Amen, amen, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of

the Son of Man and drink his blood, you do not have life within you.”

In other words, if you don’t receive the Blessed Sacrament, the Body and Blood of Christ, you will die

spiritually! How?

Perhaps, we can look at this Pandemic when the sacraments were barred from our reception, and still are for

those who are in the high risk categories. The statement I heard most often was, “It’s good to see our church

on the internet, but I still miss communion!” We miss it because it feeds us! We’re nourished and sustained by

the Sacrament of the Eucharist.

Another person told me that they would never take communion for granted again. The longing is for the

completion of God’s love through His Son! We long for forgiveness, acceptance, charity and love. We seek

the surity of Christ’s sacrificial offering!

Happy Feast Day! Let us come to the feast of heaven and earth as soon as possible, and let us never take it

for granted again. This gift is bigger than we can ever fully comprehend!

Please continue to support your Parish financially. Even if you have not yet been able to join us for Mass, don’t forget that your monetary offering is very much needed to sustain the church. Thank you for giving generously! WE NEED YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS: For the safety of all during this COVID-19 Pandemic, and to be cost efficient, we would like to begin sending more of our correspondence electronically. Please call the parish office at 384-0532 with your email address, or email it to us at [email protected], so that we can keep you informed. Your understanding and cooperation is greatly appreciated! Thank you in advance!

Hymnals for sale in the office. If you are interested in purchasing a hymnal for your personal use during Mass, please stop by the Parish

office. They are $10 each. If you can’t afford this, we can make other arrangements. Daily Mass: will be held in the Church Chapel because of the light crowd. If crowd numbers increase, we will return to the Church. Please enter through the south and north school doors. Also, when Mass is done, please leave your kneeler down. This will help us know where to disinfect after each Mass. Thank you! Events & Meetings that are routinely held at Blessed Sacrament are still not being scheduled at this time. We will resume these activities at some point in the future when we consider it safe to do so. Thank you for your cooperation! The Red Cross Blood Drive will be held at Blessed Sacrament on Thursday, June 25, from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. For an appointment, please contact Mary Phelan at 308-382-0311, or you may go online at Red Cross Blood.org.

The Catholic Bishop Abuse Reporting Service has been established to receive reports of sexual abuse and related misconduct by bishops, and to relay those reports to proper Church authorities for investigation. When a report includes a crime, such as the sexual abuse of a minor, it will also be reported to civil authorities. Otherwise, reports will be kept confidential. To make a report go to www.ReportBishopAbuse.org or call 1-800-276-1562. If you have any other kind of complaint about a bishop--such as a parish assignment, church policies, or homily contents--please address those directly to Bishop Hanefeldt or the bishop in question. Sexual abuse by a priest, deacon, staff member, or volunteer of the Church, should be reported to the Office of Child Protection by calling Beth Heidt at 1-800-652-2229 or sending an email to [email protected]. If you are the victim of sexual abuse (or any other crime), please contact local law enforcement.

Happy Flag Day!

Our country, and our world, is always in need of greater

peace. We long for peace in our families, our school,

our neighborhood, and our world, and yet we find it

difficult to do those loving, forgiving, and generous

things that can encourage peace to grow.

This is a prayer for those times when we have peace, and the lack of peace, on our minds.

Loving God, teach us to be people of peace.

Teach us to love one another,

that there may be peace in our families.

Teach us to strengthen one another,

that there may be peace in our school.

Teach us to live and work justly,

that there may be peace in our city.

Teach us to give equal respect and opportunity,

that there may be peace in our nation.

Teach us to see that people in all countries

have food, freedom, and safety

that there may be peace in our world.

Teach us to be peacemakers

in all that we do.

Lord, teach us

through the power of your Spirit,

now and forever.

Amen.
