    BLANK WASHERS

A clean process in the stamping plant is

essential for good forming results. Blank

washing units remove dirt and deposits

from the blanks and apply a protective

film of oil. The washing medium is

stored in tanks under the washer unit

or in external tanks below floor level,

    for example.

    MODULAR CONCEPT

Schuler blank washers have a modulardesign. As a result, they can be modified

for new requirements using a range of

    add-on options. Modular filter concepts

are also used. Roller brushes and the

    washing medium ensure optimum surface

cleanliness for both aluminum and steel

blanks. One or two sets of squeegee

rollers ensure that a specific quantity of

oil is applied as a protective coating.

Optimum part quality at high throughout speeds

    ADVANTAGES OF USING BLANK WASHERS

Superior surface quality for both steel and aluminum

    Consistent component quality

    Increased productivity

Cost savings for the entire processing sequence

Longer intervals between required die-cleaning operations

    ELECTRONICALLY SYNCHRONIZED

    ROLLERS

    Electronically synchronized rollers

permit high rates of throughput. The

roller pair can be individually reground

    and synchronized. This reduces mainte-

nance times and costs. The synchronized

    surface or contact provides optimum

    blank transportation.

Safety valves at inlet. Electronically synchronized rollers. Maintenance work can be performed during

    production.

    FUNCTIONS OF THE BLANK WASHER

    1. Blanks fed in via feed rollers

    2. High-volume spray application of the washing media both before

    and after the brush rollers

    3. Dirt removal via roller brushes

    4. Application of a specific quantity of oil via squeegee rollers to

    form a protective film

Options: A second pair of squeegee rollers installed to further reduce

the quantity of oil applied as a protective film

    External tank

1 Infeed rollers 2 Brush rollers

3 Squeegee rollers 4 Spray nozzles

    MAINTENANCE DURING PRODUCTION

If the forming process does not require

blank washing, the unit can be moved out

of the press line on rails. Essential main-

tenance can then be performed without

    interrupting production. This can increase

up-times for the entire line. A flap on the

inlet side permits the operation of the unit

while pulled off the manufacturing line.
