Basra is surrounded by three countries (KSA, Kuwait, and Iran) with 5

seaports (biggest two are Umm Qasr and Fao seaport) connected

with four main highways, one railway connecting it to Baghdad, and an

International Airport with connecting flights to number of international

capitals.

Because of the security measures taken by the government, Basra

has becomea very safe city andnoanybig incidenthas happened for last

threeyears.

A network of canals flowed through the city, giving it the nickname “The

Venice of theMiddle East”, at least at high tide. The tides at Basra fall by

about9feet.Forlong,Basragrewthefinestdatesintheworld.

Thecitywasrenovatedrecentlyandnowit ison its wayofbeingoneofthe

gloriouscitiesofGulfregion.
