Third through Fifth Grade Level Meeting

Third through fifth grade teachers all met to discuss future plans, both topic wise and calendar wise. Mt.

Pleasant utilizes grade chairs in order to relay information to all employees in the school. The new

school calendar, field trip days, grade level responsibilities were all discussed at this meeting.

In addition to the calendar changes, field trip day information, and grade level responsibilities, this meeting taught me so much more about my chosen profession. It taught me just how essential relationships are

in the workplace. Without constant communication and working together, there are many things in the school setting that would not be

successful.

NC Falcon Faculty Meeting

The certified teachers at Mt. Pleasant are beginning to use NC Falcon as a means to record student

progress as well as their own.

This aspect of teaching was one that I had not had the opportunity to observe previously. There are constantly new programs being utilized

in order to manage data and information, for both the students and teachers. Learning to be flexible is a characteristic that is a must when one is becoming an educator. Things will constantly change, and we

have to be willing and ready to take on these changes and put our best foot forward always.

SCIOP Workshop

The SCIOP Workshop was a workshop for certified teachers to learn how to introduce new topics and

allow students to understand the process of learning this new information. These measures were to be

used in addition to the Essential Questions required in every classroom in Wilkes County.

This workshop put one aspect of teaching into perspective. Organization and time management are essentials as educators. In order to fully complete all standards and things that are being asked of us, it

is necessary that we know where everything is and are constantly aware of everything that is happening and changing around us on a regular

basis.
