Blackwater Visit to The Clink and Queen's Gallery
Another cold morning in February and an early start took a group of members and
friends to London to visit first The Clink Museum in Borough. We were given a
conducted tour enlivened by our guide - a pantomime actor.
Rosemary Bacon provided a "willing" temporary inmate. We had divided into two
groups and could also visit the restored market and Southwark Cathedral + excellent
market pubs. Then on to
The Queen’s Gallery and a view of the excellent Northern Renaissance: Dürer to
Holbein. Exhibition. Superb images in a beautiful setting
A full report will appear in the Summer Newsletter.

The reference to infra - red "shadow" images of the painted out children is borne out
in this detail photograph - as Alec comments " The narrative is self explanatory, and
includes by the infra-red magic the overpainted details of the children but if you look
at the detail photo which I took it's quite possible to see the feet of the child
originally present. Perhaps this is due to the infra-red sensitivity of the camera, as I
don't recall this being visible to the naked eye.
