Thirty-six Blacksburg Middle and High school students traveled to Richmond, Virginia for the state Technology Student Association conference called Technosphere on May 6-8th, 2016. Over 1,900 students were registered from all over Virginia to compete in a wide variety of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) competitions for middle and high school students. Neha Hudait was elected to the state council as the 2016-2017 Vice President, and Unmesha Vullikanti was initiated as the 2016-2017 Blue Ridge Regional President. Overall Blacksburg won twenty-two- 1st, 2nd, and 3rd -place trophies and placed as finalist in thirty-five events. Blacksburg also won several other awards, including the Most Outstanding School Award for the middle school level. Below are the results for the Blacksburg Chapter:
