Traditionally DAS is realized based on the detection of coherent Rayleigh backscatters from an optical fiber. Various methods can be applied to determine the optical phase between neighboring backscatters. However, these systems provide a rather limited sensitivity of acoustic detection due to the fact that Rayleigh scattering is an extremely weak phenomenon in silica. In addition, the sensitivity for any fiber segment varies randomly over a broad range so the confidence in the output signals has always been a great concern for weak signal detection. DASnovais a unique product that offers unprecedented sensitivity with uniform sensitivity distribution along the entire sensing range. The interrogator instrument is small in size and has low power consumption. This breakthrough technology provides an ideal solution for applications where an ultrahigh sensitivity of long span distributed acoustic sensing is desired.  DASnova™Fiber  Optic  Distributed  Acoustic  Sensing  System

Distributed acoustic sensing (DAS) is important to many applications, ranging from oil/gas geological surveys, downhole measurement, perimeter intrusion detection, pipeline leak detection, to structural health monitoring. DASnova™ is a unique product that offers unprecedented sensitivity with uniform sensitivity distribution along the entire sensing range. The interrogator instrument is small in size and has low power consumption. This breakthrough technology provides an ideal solution for applications where an ultrahigh sensitivity of long span distributed acoustic sensing is desired.  Specifications
