Join us for this special event! Craig Charron, a member of the Rochester Americans’ Hall of Fame and significant presence in the Rochester hockey community was recently diagnosed with stomach cancer. Unfortunately it was discovered too late to perform surgery and he passed away October 20th, 2010. The Cardinal Race for Courage will take place on November 7th, 2010 going toward a fund designed to help pay for Craig’s 3 children’s college education. The race will be held at St. John Fisher College. Registration will be held in the SLC Campus Center and race staring line will be in the park-and-ride parking lot right off the 490 highway. The race is a 5K run (3.1 miles) or 2K walk (1.2 miles) through the St. John Fisher campus. The race will begin at 10:00 am and the majority of it will be outlined with safety cones and volunteers along the way. If you cannot participate but wish to donate to the cause please see next page for ways to donate.

Was a former professional hockey player, coach and leader. Drafted by the Montreal Canadians in the 1989 Supplemental draft, Craig had a very successful pro career in the American Hockey League. He led the 1995–1996 Calder Cup-winning Rochester Americans in scoring (43 g/52 a) and scored 273 goals in his professional career. He later coached the Spencerport Rangers High School Hockey team where he helped lead the development of the program and played a long, vital role in building the sport of hockey within the Rochester community.
