Dead Bus Closing of NL Unit 01 and 02Preliminary Requirements.1.
Only the following lines should be closed at the restoration
procedure unless the failure was originated from those.
O/L-N/L both circuits connects from O/L end then N/L end.
O/L-Polpitiya both circuits connects from O/L end then Polpitiya
end. N/L-Polpitiya both circuits connects from N/L end then
Polpitiya end.(All other transmission lines should be opened.)
2. All auxiliary supplies should be OK for both machines
(Cooling water, Pressure pumps, etc) via DG or O/L Stage 1
machine.At New Laxapana Control Room3. N/L U1 or U2 machine should
be started and energize the 132kV bus bar as per instructions of
SCE. Steps for starting N/L machine are as follows. Keep the
machine voltage in a lower value, when it reaches to the full
speed. Close the 132kV breaker at full speed.My No:

Chief Engineer (LPS)Request for standing instructions for system
restoration from New Laxapana Generators at a total system failure.
This refers to the letter, Interim Amendments to the Total failure
Restoration Methodology dated 22nd March 2010 of DGM (System
Control).As per your instructions the graft document prepared by
the Operations Engineer regarding the system restoration from N/L
machines at a total system failure is attached herewith.
Therefore please make necessary arrangements to issue the
standing instructions procedure, considering this draft document
with relevant changes and comments.
