SWIMMING
CARNIVAL A wonderful day was had
by all at our Swimming

Our students performed
beautifully as always, not

supported and
encouraged each other.
Well done girls and boys!
A special thank you to all
our fantastic helpers,

Opening:
Meeting opened at 7.13pm.
Facilitated by Peter Newman and minutes taken by Amanda Single.
Attendance:
Amanda Single (AS), Matt Braye (MB), Anne-Marie Jackson (AMJ), Peter Newman (PN), Allan Jennings (AJ) and
Darren Golby (DG). Apologies: Kylie South (KS).
Approval of minutes from last meeting:
Minutes from previous meeting accepted by PN and seconded AJ.
Business arising from previous minutes:
Blazers – Blazers have arrived. The invoice is for $1090.86 excluding GST. School to pay for the blazers and invoice
the P&C the total excluding GST. Blazers look great.
Sport singlets – Carry over.
Year 4 awning – To be funded by the school. Carry over.
Basketball Court – Carry over.
Security floodlights in the staff carpark – To be funded by the school. Carry over.
Playground – We haven’t yet received a response re the application to the Local Schools Community Fund via Meryl
Swanson. Letter to Daracon still to be finalised – feedback to be provided to PN by P&C members. When it’s
finalised, the Daracon letter will be used as a base for the Yancoal letter.
Banners – Considered mock up designs and made suggestions for improvement. Carry over.
Kitchen – tinting quotes to be obtained by AMJ. Carry over.
Air Conditioning in Kitchen – Carry over.
New bell system – KS to follow up and obtain more information. Carry over.
Swapping recess and lunch times – Trial commences in Term 2 2020. Sausage sizzle, hot lunches and Stage 3
cooking will need to be rescheduled.
Moss on the solar panels on the brick building – Carry over.
Hats – A hat from LW Reid has been selected by KS, AMJ and AS. It is the “Burke Microfibre Bucket Hat” in royal blue
with a gold trim. We will purchase 2 sizes – M/L and L/XL. Hats are purchased in boxes of 25 units (per size). We
will sell the hats for $8. The hat looks great with our uniform. It has an adjustable ‘crown cord’ to tightened the hat
and keep it securely on the head (it also means that some students may only need the one size hat for the
duration of primary school while others will only need 2 sizes – we had 4 sizes previously). This hat also has a
firmer brim than many of the other bucket hat options viewed while still being able to be folded. AS to return all
samples. P&C will have to pay return post for 2 of the 3 suppliers (PSW and Grace Collection samples).
Friday Family Fun Night (Squidditch night) – It was a great night. Approx 50 people attended. Hopefully it’ll get bigger
next year. We made $403 overall. But it was more about the community spirit. Ideas for a community event for
next year were discussed – e.g. a Christmas in July.
Correspondence In: Correspondence Out:
Uniform and canteen correspondence. Various statement. Nil
Reports:
President: The Community Night was great. It was a really good night! It was great breaking up the jobs between
numerous people. The P&C is working as a great team.
Principal: See attached Treasurer: See attached
Reports moved AS and seconded AMJ.
New business:
Subsidised Polos – the subsidised polo was offered to the incoming kindergarten kids. The offer will be extended
to any new students in 2020. The subsidy will be reviewed in Term 4 2020. The reason for the subsidy was
discussed – to ensure each student has at least one of the school polos for school photos and excursions.
P&C Gifts— to outgoing P&C contributors – gifts discussed and AMJ to organise
Next Meeting:
7pm on Monday 17th February 2020.
Closure:
