All Aluminium Alloy Conductor (AAAC) is formed by several aluminium magnesium silicon wires stranded in concentric layers. All the wires have the same nominal diameter. AAAC Conductor has lesser conductivity than ACSR Conductor.

Aluminium conductor steel-reinforced (ACSR) is a type of high-capacity, high-strength stranded conductor typically used in overhead power lines. The outer strands are high-purity aluminium, chosen for its excellent conductivity, low weight and low cost.

Introduction :
Aluminium Conductor Steel Supported (ACSS) has unique capabilities for high operating temperature and Better Aeolian vibration resistance. ACSS is a composite Aluminium steel conductor that looks just like conventional ACSR conductor. The di�erence is in the aluminium temper. The aluminium used in ACSS is fully annealed wire (O) whereas the aluminium used in ACSR is fully work hardened (H19).
ACSS conductor meets the requirement of ASTM B856.

ACSS Aluminium Wires Hi-temp EC:All the above performance advantages derive from the fact that ACSS aluminium wires are annealed and have very low yield strength. Because of this low yield strength, inelastic elongation of the aluminium occurs quite rapidly when tension is applied to ACSS conductor and thereby forcing most of the load to steel core. More importantly these aluminium wires have higher ductility and higher conductivity than the conventional ACSR.
Misch-Metal Steel Core in ACSS:Steel core wire shall be Zinc 5% Aluminium Mischmetal alloy (Galfan) coated/Galvanized steel con�rming to ASTM B 802, B 803, B 498, B957 & B 958

Gap Type Conductor (GTACSR/GZTACSR): GTACSR/GZTACSR has a unique construction with a small gap between the steel core and thermal-resis-tant/Super thermal resistant aluminium alloy layer. The combination of the thermal resistant/Super thermal resistant aluminium alloy and the "Gap construction" provides an excellent sag and current-carrying capacity for which these are used to up-rate existing transmission lines by simply reconductoring phenomenon.
The outer layers are of thermal resistant/Super thermal resistant aluminium alloy & Core materials are UHS GS/MM steel for better strength and other mechanical properties.
Performance Advantage:• Higher Current Carrying Capacity than that of ACSR
• Lower sag at high temperature operation i.e. at double transfer capacity
• Tension at worst conditions same as of ACSR. No modi�cation or reinforcement required in existing structures
• Better performance specially during heavy load conditions
High Temperature Characteristic:As ACSS Hi-temp EC wires are fully annealed and there is no possibility of further annealing by high temperature in services. Hence, there won’t be any strength loss in the aluminium in the high temperature application. The only temperature limitation is that which can cause damage to the coating of the steel core. DCC o�ers misch metal coated/Galvanized steel wire the coating will not damage up to continuous operation of 200°C-250°C.
Performance Advantage:• ACSS can operate continuously at very high temperature without any
detrimental to mechanical properties
• The �nal sag tension properties are not a�ected by long term creep of aluminium
• ACSS has a high capability for damping mechanical oscillation, such as those associated with Aeolian vibration
• ACSS aluminium wire having high conductivity of about 63% IACS whereas the ACSR aluminium wire having the conductivity of only 61% IACS
