Doctor’s Day:

On 1st July, Doctor parents addressed the children on how to be safe & healthy. Video on the

importance of doctors in our lives and a ppt of the various instruments used by them was shown,

followed by an art & craft activity.

World Paper Bag Day

Children were sensitized regarding the importance of paper and how it is made vide ppt, video and

discussion. Craft Activity-Best Out of Waste - Making and decorating a Paper Bag.

National Mango Day

On 22nd July, Mango Day was celebrated to create an awareness about the National fruit of India

vide a presentation , discussion and a song followed by hands on activity - preparing Mango

Mojito & Aam Panna.

Kargil Vijay Diwas

A tribute was paid to the soldiers who fought for our country in Kargil , vide a

discussion, ppt followed by art & craft activity .

International Tiger Day

International Tiger Day was celebrated to create an awareness to conserve tigers and

protect their natural habitats vide a PPT ,videos followed by an art & craft activity.

International Friendship Day

International Friendship Day was celebrated by viewing the assembly presented by

KG - Angelica, which portrayed the importance of the most beautiful relationship in

the world - ‘Friendship’, followed by a hands on activity - making a card and

friendship band.

1.CELEBRATIONS:-

The following celebrations were planned in the month of July for the students .

• CELEBRATION OF DOCTOR’S DAY (PARENT PARTICIPATION)(01.07.21) –

Doctor parents were invited to the class to speak about the safety measures that are to be taken

keeping in mind the present pandemic situation.

• VANMAHOTSAV (07.07.21) –Students celebrated the occasion by planting

a sapling and also by making posters on the topic ‘ Saving Trees’, using leaf printing

technique.

• PAPER BAG DAY (12.07.21) – Students took pride in making their own paper bags

using old newspaper , conveying the message of reduce , reuse and recycle - as part of this Life

Skill activity.

• SPLASH OF COLOURS (16.07.21) –Creative and Critical thinking were the main focal

points of this art activity, wherein the story of a crow was narrated to the students .Thereafter

the children had to creatively illustrate their thoughts and the feelings of the crow. The master

pieces of art by little ones gave a glimpse of their insight and was really worth appreciation.

• FITNESS SESSION FOR PARENTS (17.07.21) – An online fitness session was

conducted by the Sports Teacher Ms. Reshma Basist .Parents and students both participated in

the session with great enthusiasm. Under the guidance of Ms. Reshma, they performed various

exercises with great zeal.. The school’s endeavour in organising such a motivating fitness

session was highly appreciated by the parents.

• NATIONAL MANGO DAY (22.07.21) – Students prepared and relished the delicious '

Mango Parfait ' as part of Mango day Celebration.

• INTERNATIONAL TIGER DAY (29.07.21) – Making hand puppets of tiger , was a fun

way to celebrate the day besides sharing some fascinating facts about this national animal of

India.

2. FITNESS PROGRAMME FOR OUR LITTLE ONES,TO ENJOY THE GLOW OF

GOOD HEALTH-‘ FITNESS KA DOSE, AADHA GHANTA ROZ’ 30 minutes daily fitness

session.

The day begins with a prayer and thought. Quiz is also organized for the children

for enhancement of their General Knowledge.

heritage of our motherland.(ENGLISH)

ACTIVITIES (EXPERIENTIAL LEARNING):

CLASS I:-

1.TYPES OF TEETH- Students, through clay modelling learnt about the temporary teeth in a play

way method (ENGLISH)

2.POEM RECITATION -Children recited either the poem ‘Barkha rani’ or ‘Chanda Mama’

with correct intonation and expression. Wonderful display of props added to the beauty of their

presentation. (HINDI)

3.‘HUMARI BAGIYA KE PHOOL’ - Art Integration-Students painted a variety of flowers using

forks, earbuds and brush and learnt their names in hindi in connect to the topic .(HINDI)

4.CREATING NUMBERS ( GREATER THAN / LESSER THAN )- Students looked at the

teachers number and followed her instructions of making one that was either greater or lesser than

that number.( MATHEMATICS)

5.Craft Integration in learning of ‘COMPARISON OF NUMBERS’- Students made symbols of

comparison to practise the concept in a joyful manner. (MATHEMATICS)

6.‘ee’ , ‘oo’ sound words – A quiz was organised for enrichment of vocabulary and to enhance their

thinking skills. (ENGLISH)

7.Hindi craft (इ की मात्रा) – Origami paper folding plane (विमान) to help develop coordination

skills.

CLASS II:-

1.TRIBHUJ SE AAKRITIYAN - Children made a number of objects using cut outs of

triangles and a creative touch by drawing an appropriate scene to complete the composition.

(HINDI)

2.NOUN NUMBER ( with s,es ) – Students listened to the singular and plural nouns in the

poem and drew a composition showcasing their creativity. (ENGLISH)

3. UNDERWATER WORLD (Integration of Art with the Literature Lesson-Being

Friends) -Children created the underwater world with clay and spray painting (ENGLISH)

4.CRAFT INTEGRATION IN LEARNING OF ‘ORDINAL NUMBERS’- Making of

ordinal cookies using paper cut outs and decorating the different layers as per the guidelines

given by the teacher using ordinal numbers.( MATHEMATICS)

5.SYUKTAAKSHAR (Integration of Art in teaching the concept) -Children made a picture

composition using the coin tracing technique of words with SYUKTAAKSHAR (HINDI)

COMPARISON OF NUMBERS - With the help of the parent’s mobile number, students

created six, 3 digit numbers, and then wrote them on the drawing of a butterfly. Next,they

compared the numbers by putting the appropriate symbols of comparison. (MATHEMATICS)

CLASSES I & II

5. PODCAST :- Podcasts were prepared for topics in all thesubjects and on the series – ‘Discover India’ by the teachersand shared with the students. These podcasts were discussedwith the students during the online sessions.

1.House Activities:

•02.07.21- Students of classes 3,4&5 displayed their

remarkable acting skills by performing a Mono Act,

during the House Activity today, on either one of the

following characters - inspirational literary or real

life. The colourful costumes and props helped to

bring the enactments to life.

•16.07.21 - EVS Quiz for classes 3,4&5 was held today during the House Meeting

period. The students participated with great vigor and enthusiasm. It was informative and

knowledge enriching . The quiz was based on videos which touched upon various topics

such as invention of paper, Pluto-the dwarf planet and the Bermuda Triangle .

Special assembly:

•15.07.08- Special Assembly on the topic Health and Wealth was presented by

the students of class 5C. The students participated with great fervor. They

showcased the importance and ways of keeping healthy through a skit followed

by song and a dance.

•Special assembly by 5D on 22.07.21- Students of class

5D presented the special assembly on International Tiger

Day on 29th July 2021. Students depicted the need the

need to conserve forests and the natural habitat to save

tigers through a short skit. Awareness messages, mask

making and other mediums were also used to highlight

this concern among people.

A virtual tour to MUSEO CAMERA, a museum dedicated to the art and

science of photography was organized today(23.7.21) for the children of Art and

Craft Club . It was conducted by Mr Aditya Arya, the founder director and also

an eminent photographer and visual historian. The tour was indeed an eye

opener for all as the children saw a collection of more than 3000 cameras out of

which some were a hundred years old. A brief walk through the museum was

fascinating as the children also saw cameras which had clicked pictures of

disaster caused in Nagasaki and Hiroshima . The sight and functions of ancient

dark rooms, studios, the largest and the smallest cameras and other

photographic equipment was a learning experience. The tour ended with a

question answer session which was enlightening.

INTERSCHOOL COMPETITIONS –

• Shanaya Magotra of class I B , participated in the event ‘CREATE A JINGLE

’organised by Darbari Lal D.A.V Model School and won the Consolation prize.

• Kavya Khanna of class II B participated in the Online Painting Competition organised

by the Ministry Of Environment Forest & Climate and bagged the third prize.

8. WORKSHOPS & WEBINARS FOR TEACHERS:-

•26.07.21 - Webinar on Kargil Vijay Divas – Major Kavi Prateek was the Guest speaker.

•27.07.21 - Webinar on Mindfulness – Ms. Dimple Mehta was the Guest speaker.

2. PTI – PTI was held on 03.07.21 with subject teachers and activity teachers for classes

Nursery -V

3. Meetings

•08.07.21- Meeting with the vice principal to brief teachers about checking of answer

sheets and general conduct.

Interschool Competitions:

•Impressive performance by the students of our school at Crossroads 2021 , organised by

D.L.D.A.V. Model School, Pitampura

Our students participated in two events and bagged the prizes in both the categories:2nd

Position - Laugh and make the world laugh- Naksh Kathuria - Class III

Consolation Prize - Create a Jingle- Shanaya Magotra - Class I
