Find the right spot1. Attract internal apprentice by a roadshow in the 4th year.2. Use the university job days.3. Fancy online information platform for young talents and career starters.

Be prepared§ Young people want to see their (possible) future in the Mainframe.§ What kind of technology is used? => show me the cool stuff!§ How about different career paths? e.g. SME, Architect, Project Manager, Line Manager. § Is there a (young) Mainframe community? Knowledge and news exchange is essential for them!§ MF Certificates/Graduations - A main key opener! e.g. internal certificates, EMA(European

Mainframe Academy).§ Does the company support me to get an university degree?

Get them involvedØ This new generation wants to be challenged.Ø Give them the right amount of responsibility and increase it regularly.Ø Make them visible and provide a platform for their ideas.Ø Have frequent 1:1 sessions to control their progress and provide constructive feedback.Ø Let them have team projects and development activities.
