Robert T. BurnsChief Legal Officer and General CounselPutnam Investments

Mr. Burns is Chief Legal Officer and General Counsel for Putnam Investments. He leads the Legal andCompliance Department and is responsible for overseeing all legal and compliance matters related toPutnam, Putnam’s mutual funds, and Putnam’s other products and services. Mr. Burns is a member ofPutnam’s Operating Committee, the SEC Rules Committee of the Investment Company Institute, and theBoard of Governors and the Legal and Regulatory Committee of the Investment Adviser Association. Hejoined Putnam in 2004 and has been in the investment industry since 1989.

Prior to joining Putnam, Mr. Burns was a Senior Vice President, Associate General Counsel, and Secretary atMFS Investment Management from 1989 to 2004, and an Associate at Ropes & Gray from 1985 to 1989.

Mr. Burns earned a J.D. from University of Pennsylvania Law School and a B.S. from Boston College.
