Objectives

to prepare for and provide service to negotiations on financial resources and mechanism

to identify additional finance for environment from foreign and private sources and promote access to these sources

to develop partnership with funding institutions and development agencies to assist the developing country Parties in managing their public biodiversity

expenditure better to promote development and application of innovative financial instruments at

local, regional and national levels to raise funds for supporting wider participation in the Convention process to cooperate with the financial mechanism in improving its effectiveness to promote the involvement of business and industry
