Feature Benefit
Thin wall, polyurethane cannula body
Maximizes flow, minimizes pressure drop
Flat, wirewound construction Maximizes flexibility, resists kinking
Multiple side ports Maximizes flow rates
Smooth, tapered lumen Maximizes flow, minimizes turbulence
Radiopaque Facilitates visibility and positioning
Depth markings Indicates insertion depth
one piece, tapered introducer with guidewire port (Adult sizes only)
Facilitates insertion over 0.038 in guidewire
3⁄8 in or ½ in connector (Adult) ¼ in connector (Pediatric)
Adapts to most perfusion circuits
Bonded with Carmeda® BioActive Surface (optional)*
This non-leaching End Point Attached heparin biosurface mimics critical characteristics of the vascular endothelium to provide thromboresistance and biocompatbility
Flat ribbon wire reinforcement
.48 mm wall thicknessAdult Cannulae
Flat ribbon stainless steel wire reinforced cannulae resist kinking and maintain patency, yet offer the flow rates and flexibility needed for successful placement
through tortuous vessels.
.38 mm wall thicknessPediatric Cannulae
Bio-Medicus® Cannulae
■■ These percutaneous cannula kits are designed to permit easy percutaneous insertion.
■■ The cannulae are ideally suited for direct surgical placement, using the surgeon’s preferred insertion technique.
■■ The thin-wall construction with high inside-to-outside diameter ratios notably improve flow rates; pressure drops are the lowest size-for-size of any cannulae.
■■ All percutaneous cannula kits feature sideports in the distal tip.

Positioning the tip of the cannula well into the SVC optimizes drainage of the entire venous circulation by accessing the SVC, atrium and IVC.
The extended length introducer with new, smoother transition zone, promotes ease of percutaneous femoral vein cannulation and advancement through tortuous venous anatomy.
Depth marks allow the surgeon to visualize the length of the introducer beyond tip of the cannula body
