New Customers
Many of our customers are experienced,
seasoned customers and they are quite
capable of hearing and understanding any
type of calling
Some of our customers are new bingo players
and they may not be able to understand the
caller
Don’t drive away the new bingo players

on the plain”
9
Enunciate
Enunciation means to pronounce words
in a clear and distinct manner to create
an effective and clear message and
communication
10
“She sells seashells down by the
seashore”
“She sells seashells down by the
seashore”
11
Projection
Projection is the use of one’s voice in a
forceful manner to be heard at a distance
12
“Peter Piper picked a peck of
pickled peppers”
“A peck of pickled peppers Peter
Piper picked”
13
Inflection
Inflection is the modulation or tone of
one’s voice to create a mood or
perception
You can make your voice sound happy or
sad by the inflection with which you
speak
14
Use your “happy”
voice, the voice with
the “smile” in it

The combination of articulation,
enunciation, projection and
inflection provides for a clearer
and more efficient message

Voice Content
Educate
Inform
Assist
Communicate
18
Educate
Our customers come to the bingo hall to
relax and to reduce stress
When we educate them about the play of
the game and other basic information,
they are able to enjoy simply playing
bingo
19
Inform
Information is vital in particular the
game being played, the paper, whether
the game is in the pack or a floor special,
the winning configuration, any wild
numbers and the prize
20
Assist
Our players have different levels of
expertise and it is imperative that they
are given ample time to participate in
any game
Be particularly careful about the
dabbing of wild numbers and ensure
that all players are finished before
beginning to call balls
21
Communicate
The caller has an important opportunity
to communicate important information
to the players by frequent and periodic
announcements from the caller stand
Make sure you do this on a regular
schedule
22
Verifying Winners
Make sure to apply what you have learned
about voice mechanics and voice content to
the verification of winners
Use that smile in your voice and say
“congratulations”
23
Game Transition
The key to attaining the appropriate rate of
play is the game transition announcement
The announcement must include the game to
be played, whether the game is “in the pack”
or a special, the paper to be played, the
winning configuration, the wild numbers if
any and the prize
24
Announcements
We will have an entire separate discussion
about announcements
Review the handout pertaining to
announcements
25
Scripts
Announcements should be scripted to ensure
that the presentation is consistent, uniform
and comprehensive
Type out scripts and have them laminated
Keep them at the caller’s stand
26
No food, drink or smoking
Bingo blowers are delicate pieces of
equipment and they deteriorate when you
pour a Coke into them
No food, drink or smoking while calling bingo
This is a firing offense
