Year 9 visit to CSUOn Tuesday 22th August a group of year 9 students travelled with Ms Murdoch and Mr Stead to Charles Sturt University Thurgoona Campus to take part in a career aspiration day, organised and fully funded by the Federal Government’s Future Moves Program. During the day students moved between different areas of the University, participating in workshops in Environment, Health, Education, and a tour of accommodation and library. Days like this provide an excellent opportunity for students to see firsthand what Tertiary Education is all about. Stage 5 Textiles The Culcairn Red Cross kindly donated knitting wool and needles for us to use in our textiles classes. We took this opportunity to learn how to knit and make useful items like scarves and blankets. We will be able to use the many bags of wool for future

projects and assignments for class. In return for their donation, we wrote a letter to thank them for supporting our school. Positive Pizza and Chirpy Chips.Congratulations to the Year 9 students who achieved levels Positive 2 and Positive 3 during semester one. An extravaganza lunch was held last Monday to reward these students for their efforts. By all reports the Positive Pizza and Chirpy Chips lunch was a success and wasn’t too cheesy! Mr Campbelll Year 10 Geography Field Trip Year 10 Geography Blue and Green classes walked to the Billabong Creek last Tuesday. They observed and tested the colour and purity of the water, as well as the flora and fauna around the creek while they were there. Thank you to Mr Moss and Mr Smith for their organisation of the excursion.
