Preparing & reviewing of Welding Procedure Specification (WPS), PQR and conducting welder qualification tests.

Identifying welding defects either by visual or NDT methods, viz. Radiography - film review, supervising DPT, UT &

MT testing and interpreting the results with customer / 3rd party inspection agencies and arranging to rectify them.

Developing daily, weekly progressive reports/quality control reports and recording them properly as a part of document

control in various quality & inspections procedures.

Coordination of applicable NDT activities & Reviewing of NDT reports (RT, MT, PT, and Hardness & PMI).

Managing Welder’s Qualification Test and Procedure Qualification Test in presence of third party representatives.

Maintaining Welders performance and continuity log.

Selection and control of welding consumables as per applicable Codes and standards.

Interpreting Codes / Standards / Specs.

To prepare weld maps for piping.

Make sure implementation of all NDT as per code and client specification.

Supervise and manage all activities regarding welding & to make sure that all parameters are met in accordance with the

welding documents provided by QC.

To visit the construction site daily to check whether all works, materials, equipment, are in accordance with QA/QC

program, Project drawing & specification. When defective materials, equipment, or workmanship are found, immediate

action to be taken to correct them, & to report the corrective action to the Site Incharges.

Checking/verification of inspection related documents such as material test certificates, preparation of manuals, clearing

of punch list and inspection release note.

Ensure handling, storage materials (in their care, custody and control) in accordance with manufacturer’s suggested

procedures and relevant specifications.

Preparing work instructions / test descriptions / inspection plans and revise / update them as and when required.

Conducting Welder Qualification Test as per ASME Sec IX to ensure the performance capacity of various piping /

welding and equipment to ensure smooth operations.

Inspecting weld fit-up, weld visual & NDT requirements for pipelines, pre heat, PWHT &witness of hydro test,

pneumatic test, etc. Analyzing various processes/applications and recommending modifications & equipment calibrations

to enhance operational efficient.

Inspection of Heat treatment cycle using WPS, Procedures & codes.

Coordination for all piping activities, starting form material receiving for fabrication to final commissioning stage.

Close coordination with site Execution team for any design issues and their technical assistance.

Developing test packages for piping works as per design pressure and line list.

To manage the inspection of sand blasting and painting.

Evaluation of Galvanizing Subcontractor.

To manage the inspection of hot dip galvanizing activities.

Pin hole detection/Holiday testing for underground piping

Final safety color coding and identification for whole plant as per client specification.

Stationary equipment installation, alignment & orientation inspection as per layout plane and release for grouting.

Material identification as per client specification and applicable Codes and standards.

Conduct Joint Area Release Inspection (Walk Through) with Client in preparation for final hand over.
