Read a short version of the story ofDumbo.Dumbowas born with big ears that he wasembarrassed about, but it was his big earsthat he could use to fly. Just like Dumbowas made special God has made eachone of us very special and he has a veryspecial plan for each of us.There is a story in the Bible of a manname John. God knew John before he wasborn and He had a special job for John todo when he grew up. Johns mum anddads names were Elizabeth and Zacha-rias. They taught John about God. Johnwas different to many people because heate grasshoppers and honey and hisclothes were made from a camel.The special job God had for John was forhim to tell others about Jesus and getthem ready to meet him.God wants you to grow up and be just likeJesus and serve him.Remind children that God loves them very

much and he has a very special plan foreach one of them!

Props Needed: Picture of Dumbo, Grasshopper

Dumbo was born with big ears that he was embarrassed about,but it was his big ears that he could use to fly. Just like Dumbowas made special God has made each one of us very special andhe has a very special plan for each of us.There is a story in the Bible of a man named John.Elizabeth and Zacharias were Johns parents. They taught Johnabout God and told him that he had a special job to do for God.John was different than most people of his time -- He lived out inthe wilderness. He dressed in clothes that were made fromcamel's hair and ate things that he found in the desert like locust(grasshoppers) and wild honey.One day God's words came to John and John began to preach tothe people what God had told him. He told them to "Stop doing

wrong and get ready because the Savior was coming." He wouldbaptize the people who came to him and said they wanted to stopdoing wrong. Soon people began to call him John the Bap-tist. People from all over would come out to the wilderness andlisten to John the Baptist. Some people thought he was theirpromised Savior, but John told them that he wasn't and that hisjob was to tell people about the Savior and get them ready tomeet him.God knew who John was before he was even born and had a spe-cial job for him. God also knew who you were before you wereborn and has a special job for you to do.Ask children what they would like to be when they grow up? Youmay grow up to be a minister or a teacher or a great evangelist or

you may be a fireman, or a secretary or a mommy or daddy. Nomatter what you become God wants you to grow up to be likeJesus and serve him. He wants you to tell others about Jesusjust like John the Baptist and tell them to be ready because Je-sus is coming again.

God made you just the way he wanted

to make you. You are different than

Each one of us is good at something. God has made each

one of us very special and he has given each one of us

doing what she was given to do. Does anyone remember

what spec ia l talent Tinkerbell was given? When Tinkerbell

imp ortant pa rt to play too.

There is a story in the Bib le of a king na me d Pha raoh who

had a BIG problem. One night the king had a really strange

drea m. The kings d rea m w as very imp ortant b ut he d idnt

know what the dream mea nt.

One day someone in the palace told the king that he knew

som eone nam ed Josep h who c ould tell him w hat his dream

me ant. The King sent for Josep h. Josep h to ld him, "I c an't te ll

you what your dream means, but God can tell us what it

means."

God gave Joseph a very special ability. Joseph was able to

help Egyp t by telling Pharao h what his d rea m me ant. Go d

gives each one of us special abilities to help others. Even

though you may think there is nothing really special about

you, there is! God made you just the way he wanted to

make you. You are different than every other person. God

may have given you a special ability such as singing, draw-

ing , tea c hing othe rs, or helping othe rs. God wa nts you to use

the special abilities he gave you to help others, just like Jo-

sep h did.

There is a sto ry in the Bible o f a man

named Paul who God sent on lots oftrips to tell people about Jesus. Not

everyone liked hearing about Jesus

and some peop le we re very mean to

him, but Paul loved Jesus very much

and he still to ld others about h im.

Even though you are still little God

can use you to tell others about Je-

sus.you can show others his love.

You can play nicely with your friends

at Cubby House and you can giveyour mum and dad lots of cuddles

and kisses.

Props Needed : Backpack filled with 5-6 items you

might take on a trip (torch, toothbrush, brush, bin-oc ulars, tedd y etc )

Who likes going on a trip or a holiday? I brought

my bag to show you some things I take on a trip

with me. Show kids the items in your ba g then put

them bac k in to the bag. Ask child ren to see if they

c an rememb er the items that w ere in the ba g.

There is a story in the Bible o f a man na me d Paul

who God sent on lots of trips to tell people about

Jesus. Wha t d o you think Paul might ha ve taken on

his journey?It wasnt always easy for Paul, not everyone liked

hearing about Jesus and some people were very

mean to him.he even ended up in jail. But Paul

loved Jesus very much and when he was in jail he

even sang to him. Sing Jesus Loves Me .

Telling your sto ry about how muc h you love Jesus is

not always going to be easy, like it wasnt for Paul

but God never left Paul and he will never leave

you bec ause he loves you very muc h.
