Pain Intervention Workshop

▌ Benefits

• Hands-on approach to the procedures.

• Opportunities to perform the procedures on the cadavers under image intensifier guidance.

• Learn from experienced local and overseas instructors about their secrets and experience.

• The Basic Workshop will involve procedures such as facet, sacroiliac joint, piriformis, coelic plexus, sympathetic, epidural and nerve root blocks. These blocks are commonly performed in the practice of pain medicine and will be beneficial to those hoping to include it in their practice.

• The Advanced Workshop promises to be cutting edge and exciting. It involves more challenging procedures that are increasingly used in Pain Medicine including spinal cord stimulators, discograms, nucleoplasty, head and neck blocks as well as intrathecal pumps and catheters. This module will be more suitable for those who are keen to push their boundaries more in their practice.

▌ Delivery Format: 4 stations will be set up at the workshop. Participants will be rotated to do hands-on procedure on cadaver for each segment guided by experienced instructors.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy

▌Over the past several years, the concept of a holistic approach to managing pain has received much attention. More and more individuals with pain are realising that often times, the healthy management of pain should extend beyond just the use of medications to control the pain.

Those who are willing to commit to physical, behavioural and mental changes, apart from taking medication, often find that they are able to greatly improve their quality of life despite their pain. We are therefore pleased to focus our attention on these alternative forms of pain management today.
