Dear Colleague,
There are many of us researchers, professionals or amateurs, around the world who study plant galls and gall inducing organisms. Unfortunately we have few opportunities to meet each other, share our knowledge, and most of all, we rarely spend time in the field together. This meeting is intending to offer this opportunity : 4 DAYS of field excursions in the heart of Europe’s most preserved forest and its beautiful surroundings. Forêt & Naturalité, a belgian association working for the defense of natural forests in Belgium and abroad, in collaboration with The Białowieża National Park, is happy to take care of this organisation.
This meeting will allow professional scientists, as well as amateurs, to learn and to share their experience, skills and knowledge in a convivial atmosphere. The program will mainly consist of field excursions during the day, and laboratory studies and short presentations in the evening. Travel from Warsaw to Białowieża (and return) will be included. Comfortable accommodation in the Białowieża National Park accommodation building and nice local food in different restaurants are guaranteed ! Registration and booking before 10th of January ! PRICE : 390 EUR including : Bus from Warsaw to Białowieża (and return), local transport by bus, auditorium presentations and lab works, excellent local food and beers, confortable accommodation, French and English speaking guides, local flora and insects specialists, special guidance into the strict protected zone ! The guides are subscribing an insurance for the guidance activities only. The guides can’t be taken as responsible for any incident or wound during their activities if their responsibility is not proven. Some transport during the activities will be done with rented vehicles, with basic insurance included in the renting contract. During all the transports, the responsibility of the guides is not engaged. Each participant has to be covered by an insurance covering its own civil responsibility and subscribe to a health insurance abroad. Invoice is given when this contract signed is received. In case of the participant want to cancel, no refund will be possible. In case of the event is cancelled, we’ll refund totally the amount paid within a delay of one month after the official cancellation.

Natural forest ecosystem compared to managed forests, identification of different natural habitats.
Mammals sightings : looking for bisons, dears, and more than 40 others species possible... including wolf and lynx !
Botanical approach : trees and characteristic local species
Birdwatching : remarkable birds of the area, with many interesting nesting and migrating species. PROGRAM : 7 days from Saturday 25/08 to Saturday 01/09 (Return in Warsaw). Comfortable accommodation in a Białowieża guest house in town and nice local food in different restaurants.
