A Brief History of Time

Began collaborative development of research collections in 1930’s

Expanded in 1950’s Formalized in 1980’s with MOU

and Principles of Cooperation Governance structure, formal

committees, and central staffing/funding

“to marshal the financial, human, and information resources of their research libraries through cooperative efforts in order to create a rich and unparalleled knowledge environment that furthers the universities' teaching, research, and service missions.”
