We are called to go, go beyond our comfort zones, to go be a light, a voice of hope, and arms of love.

Beyond is a part of our intentional response to God’s call and our practical efforts to carry His love and message to our local and global community.

Beyond has been a part of our church since we began in 1975 and over the years we have raised millions of dollars. This giving has gone to fund programs and people throughout Africa, Philippines, Indonesia, Malaysia, India, the city of Paris, and of course, here in Perth. This generosity has also funded school chaplains, provided community courses and community help, supported churches in our state and also overseas, funded resources for our extensive Fun4Kids programs, and much, much more.

You can change a life.

Beyond is funded completely from people like you getting involved and committing to giving a one time gift, or a Faith Promise over a 12 month period.

Each year during Beyond Week we provide an opportunity for everyone, across all generations, to be a part of changing lives locally and globally. We strongly believe that there is great value in being able to bless others through our giving, and our time.

The graph below provides an overview of our four budget categories. Further information regarding the actual programs is outlined in the following pages.

The Life Project is the new name for the community services arm of C3 Church Hepburn Heights. The Life Project encapsulates John 10:10 in that Jesus came to give us ‘life, and life to the full.’

The Life Project aims to provide resources, opportunities, education, skills, practical help, and in time facilities that bring and show life to our surrounding community. We are currently engaged in a one year feasibility study to gauge specific needs and the most effective methods of meeting those needs. Stay tuned!

Breakdown of relationships and family dysfunction are major issues globally and in our local community. We have had a long and reputable history of providing support, assistance and education for engaged and newly married couples, and also for parents through their journey of raising children.

We are looking to expand that history and become one of the premier providers of family and marriage resources in the state, with the aim to develop and run a variety of programs, and create resources that will strengthen relationships, families and marriages.

Significant family support Family and Marriage

Helping connect peopleWe recently established the role of kindy chaplain, as a way of connecting people who attend our Kindy Play during the week, to what happens in our building over the weekend.

Our chaplain liaises with parents, offering a listening ear to some of their joys and struggles, as well as lifting the profile of our church and what we have to offer. It has been well received by all the parents and we are excited to continue this role.

Every year we make and donate hampers to people in our local community who find Christmas a challenging time due to financial difficulty or a recent tragedy. Each hamper is worth over $200 and they are a practical, yet profoundly impacting way we can love people.

Providing a smile at ChristmasChristmas Hampers

Loving one anotherWe have financial assistance available for providing practical help in a critical situation. Over the years we have helped people leave abusive situations, paid bills, provided emergency accommodation and other such support, displaying the love of Christ.

Crisis Support

Interactive play space To bless our local community, create opportunities for greater connection during the week and on Sundays, we are planning to create an amazing nature-inspired play space. This will open new doors for people to visit our building and connect while they are here, and also facilitate connection hubs with future Life Project initiatives.

2013 2014Red Frogs is an initiative that was started to help school leavers cope with Leavers’ Week. The idea being that the ‘Red Frog’ crew are a group of young people who are sent to Leavers’ Week (usually down south) to chat to other young people, help them get home safe and provide a positive and safe alternate environment. It has now expanded into universities and we help fund a team who assist at ECU Joondalup. Feeding programs, events, social gatherings and connect groups are just some of the ways Red Frogs helps support university students on their journey.

Lighting up Christmas in PerthWe have an exciting goal to be the most amazing Christmas light display in the city of Perth. We will see thousands visit our church from the 8th-20th of December and be wowed as they move throughout our church auditorium and foyer. The purpose is to shift perceptions of God and church, and through our excellence, volunteers and video production, bless families and show the love of Christ.

Lights in the Heights

Sharing and caring for seniorsFor over four years we have had a team of people from our church spend time each week at the Woodlakes Care Facility. Here they run friendship groups, chat to and play games with the residents, and hold services several times a year where they have sing-alongs and share Bible stories. We also offer chaplaincy services to residents and their families.

We began a partnership with C3 Church Nullagine (4 hours inland from Port Hedland) last year. In June 2013 we sent a team to Nullagine, who spent time with the Irringudgi people, hosting community dinners and events, helping with a community clean up, conducting leadership training and sharing the Gospel. We also donated a new sound system to C3 Church Nullagine, sports gear to the community and a Bible on iPod to every household. This year we plan to take another team to Nullagine and continue the partnership in similar ways.

Loving our neighboursWe have been a proud supporter of Volunteer Task Force (VTF) for many years. VTF has many facets, with the key aim to help people with limited means to live with safety, amenity and comfort.

Every couple of months we organise a team of 5-6 people who give of their time on a Saturday morning and join VTF in yard clean-ups for people who are too ill, or too frail to do it for themselves. It is a great chance to connect with other people in the church and also an opportunity for ‘+1’ moments.

‘The power of a simple gift’ is the catch cry of Samaritan’s Purse ‘Operation Christmas Child’.

Each year our church fills hundreds of shoe boxes with little gifts and a lot of love, that are then sent to children in third world countries, who often own little more than the clothes on their back.

These shoe boxes are an ‘open door’ into villages and communities for the gospel, and thousands have made a decision for Christ as a result. You can get involved in filling your boxes and also volunteering at the packing and preparation warehouse in Perth.

John and Dianne Finkelde have been part of our church for over 30 years. Two years ago they handed over the Senior Pastor role of our church and launched ‘Grow a Healthy Church’. Our support helps enable them to travel into many nations and minister to numerous churches and leaders. Over the past year John and Dianne have had significant impact in the body of Christ, ministering at 6 leadership conferences, in 45 churches, in 6 countries.

Partnering with C3 Church Jubilee in Johannesburg, we have sent teams to help lead conferences, perform practical work for families in the community, provide leadership training and much more.

This year we are focussing our resources on C3 Jubilee Kids and providing excellent resources for the leaders and the children that attend. We are so pleased to be sending and supporting Pat Hudson from our church to serve in the Njabulo children’s home for the next six months.

Outstanding work at C3 JubileeSouth Africa

Planting a healthy futureWe are strong believers in the value of church planting and have been involved in 11 church plants over the history of our church. Recent church plants include; C3 Church Crawley, C3 Church Karrinyup, C3 Church Paris and C3 Church Fremantle. We continue this great tradition by supporting Ps Ryan and Rachel Waters at C3 Church Mumbai, Ps Seth and Karen Brooks as they plant in the USA, and by preparing to launch 3 campuses by 2020.

Big Days are open door Sundays and are designed to make inviting someone to church a little easier.

2014 has four major big days: Easter, Christmas, Mother’s Day and Father’s Day. These days feature elements like; special items, a family fun fair after the service, giveaways and an intentionally geared message. Beyond also supports Big Days run by Fun4Kids and our youth department, Stadium Community.

Sunday +1 opportunities Big Days

Growing influence in our communityFun4Kids is the name for our 3 kids’ programs. We run a regular Sunday morning program, a weekly Tuesday afternoon club, and a school holiday program.

These programs have experienced amazing growth in recent years, now seeing hundreds of kids each week, and seeing many families connected into our church community.

Beyond helps fund the resourcing and staffing of the Fun4kids club and holiday programs.

Since 1999 we have been going into the local High Schools running a variety of programs and events. We continue to do this with breakfast and lunchtime programs and the mentoring programs ‘Strength’ and ‘Shine’.

These provide life skills, friendship and connection for students and our Stadium Community program.

We have seen hundreds of young people practically strengthened who come to Stadium Community as a direct result of these programs.

Listening and caring for studentsSchool chaplains perform an amazing service in a school community representing Christ and the church in a practical way. We have helped establish numerous chaplaincy positions in our local community and continue to provide support and financial backing.

You can be part of changing lives in 3 waysWhat Now?

We are called to be good stewards of all that pours into our world. What a privilege that we can so tangibly partner with God, men and women, and organisations making a significant impact here and around the globe.

You may never personally see a child in forced labour but your Beyond giving can help set them free. You may not be gifted to conduct marriage counselling, plant a church or mentor teens, but you can become an active, significant component through your giving.

Each year, during Beyond Week, we as a church seek God, go to a position of faith, and commit to giving what He prompts. This financial commitment can be fulfilled as a one-time gift, a monthly amount over 12 months, or a combination of both.

Go

We understand that prayer helps align heaven’s heartbeat with earth’s reality. As we partner together in prayer, we see the supernatural power of God at work in real life situations. So much of our impact through Beyond has been established first, in the realm of prayer. Every time you think of Beyond or a related project, why not send up a prayer?

The third way to be involved in Beyond is to ‘GO’. Whatever gift mix, budget, or available time you may have, there are opportunities to serve locally, throughout WA and into the nations. Many of these opportunities have been outlined in this flyer, or feel free to contact [email protected]
