Parents: Please check your child in and out every Sunday morning. Even if you start in the worship center and enroll your child half way through the session.
We really need extra volunteers for the nursery for the month of April. If you are a regular nursery volunteer and can volunteer an extra hour or if you are brand new and can just help during this month. We can use you. See Kay Asche or Lori C ASAP!

There is so much to do this month in Children’s ministry. April 6 is our Spaghetti lunch after church. The money goes to support our kids going to KIDJAM this summer. Come out to watch our Neon Kids perform on Palm Sunday at 9:30am & 11am. Following that we have a wonderful Easter Egg Hunt planned. We need help advertising our Easter Egg Hunt. Please let us know if you can help distribute postcards to your child’s class and your friends and neighbors. We need extra teachers on hand for Easter Sunday and we need workers for April 13 at 6pm. We need donations for our Yard Sale on May 16 & 17. We also need help with organizing and setting up the sale.

Community Christian Church, Bethel OH
It was the leading story for a week, almost two, but has recently been demoted to a secondary role in the evening news and on the web. Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 is an interesting story to me because it is a reminder that many times our society forgets the importance of people. It doesn’t matter if you are talking about one person or 227 people, the Bible teaches cover to cover – people are important, especially lost people.
When there is no new reports of floating debris sightings by satellites or from searching ships or other search aircraft we quietly forget about all of those people and begin to report on other news stories like a shooting or an airport commuter train derailment. Are those worthy news reports valid? Yes, they are, but why are we
in such a hurry to move on past the people who are now missing with a very large airplane?
Could it be with all our modern technology we are forced to admit there are some things we can’t control or explain even with all the advances in human knowledge? Many people today want to believe we have no need of God because we have the bases covered as far as reason and intelligence goes. Until we run into situations like Flight 370. Flight 370 is a stumbling block to many people because, as of this writing, we can’t explain what happened. We can’t even find the ping from the engines after nearly three weeks or a black box recorder.
I think of the commission Jesus gave our church family. We are to find people among those we call friends, family, co-workers or neighbors who do not know Christ as Savior. They may not be lost like the people of Flight 370 but many of them, spiritually speaking, are lost.
Palm Sunday, Easter Sunday and the entire week called Holy Week are a good time to extend an invitation to people who need a place to call their home. They need a family that will love and care for them. If only they would just give you half a chance to demonstrate that you care about people. Give you a chance to prove you would never forget a friend who disappears but that you would search them out and reassure them how much you and your older brother Jesus really do care.
This spring season who are you praying for? Do you have three people you plan to invite to worship with you this Easter season?
Don’t let another spiritual opportunity pass you by. Develop a short list of people. Pray for those people a couple times a day and
then take a risk for Jesus and invite those people you care about to sit with you to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ. The
people thought Jesus was missing but through the power of the Father, Jesus and those who follow Him are very much alive forever.
