INSTALL OPTIONS

• Three Different Options Available• Needed to meet varying County security requirements

• All options install the same underlying chemspro.exe

• Install password is the same for all the three

• ICONS

• PLAIN

• Zip of EXE Only

INSTALL ‘ICONS’

• Fully Compliant Windows Installer• Need to be a Windows Admin to install this way

• Updates the registry so you can auto update and auto uninstall

• The Auto Update is the same as the Icons install

• Normally you just click OK a few times to accept the defaults

• If you are NOT a Windows Admin -

• The install will fail midway through with a cryptic error message

• You can NOT use the auto-update feature in CHEMS

INSTALL ‘PLAIN’

• Scripted Installer• Installs the EXE and creates a desktop shortcut if possible

• Do NOT need to be a Windows Admin to install this way

• Does NOT update the registry

• Can NOT use the Auto Update feature in CHEMS

INSTALL ‘ZIP OF EXE ONLY’

• CHEMSPRO.EXE in Zip format• Just the CHEMSPRO.EXE program in a zip file for download

• Nothing automated, a manual process to do an update

• Normally used to update a shared network folder

• Download, unzip the EXE to your desired location

SUMMARY

• Only the CHEMSPRO.EXE is needed on your PC along with Internet Explorer and an Internet connection.

• Which install method you use depends on your counties security setup.

• All methods install the same underlying chemspro.exe, all use the same password for each version.

• Talk with your IT department if you intend to change the way you and install or update CHEMSPRO.
