Background Information DURA - overview of St. Luke’s Urban Redevelopment Area and
funding for the park improvements
Timeline 2009- 2010 Planning process with community meetings led by Council office
and DURA to identify Area Improvement Projects.
Two public improvement projects were identified.
1) Benedict Fountain Park improvements
2) Intersection project at Grant, Tremont Pl., 21st and 20th Ave.
2010- Park improvements preliminary concept plan was developed
(Overview to follow)
Fall 2011 funding became available to implement the park improvement
project.
Overall Budget $500,000 for adding park amenities and $250,000 for renovation of existing
park infrastructure (i.e. irrigation, fountain, lighting, etc.)
