SPECIAL EVENTS
MISSION FUNDRAISERS
Plan now for an evening of dinner and music for a “Belated” Valentine’s! Tickets go on sale Sunday, January 13.
Denver Bierman and his band of musicians (all Belmont University students), the Mile High Orchestra put together an act that would take them literally to the ends of the earth. Blending a red hot horn section, along with jazz and big band roots, Denver and the Mile High Orchestra have created a sound that is unlike any other. They wowed all of America, as they made the finale of the FOX-TV “American Idol” spin off “The Next Great American Band.” While DMHO has been compared to many, the music defies a genre.
Valentine’s Dinner & ConcertFeaturing Denver & the Mile High OrchestraSaturday / February 16 @ 6:30pm / Beltway Park
Smooth vocals combine with a wall of sound that calls up the images of blues, funk and soul. What can be defined is a contemporary pop sensibility with a nod to the great horn bands of the past.
Over 10 years the band has evolved and explored many different musical avenues, but one thing that has and will remain unchanged is an unswerving devotion to Jesus Christ which is transparent in their music. “Having a career in the music business comes and goes,” said Denver. “The hope we find in our faith is for an eternity.”
Proceeds from the following events, Valentine’s Concert, Passover Meal, Garage Sale and Golf Scramble benefit Beltway Park’s Summer Mission teams traveling all over the world in 2013.

Passover MealMarch 27 @ 6:00pm

Real life change rarely occurs in isolation. That’s why at Beltway you hear a lot about getting together in small groups. Gathering literally all over Abilene and the Big County, people from every stage of life meet in homes to follow Jesus more closely. You might not think that engaging truth or ministering to one another could be so informal – yet be so intensely rewarding. Simple. Spiritual. Encouraging. Life Transforming.
To learn more about our Life Group ministry, search online at beltway.org/lifegroups, or speak to one of our Life Group pastors.

OUTREACH & MISSIONS
Beltway Park is dedicated to presenting Jesus Christ personally to this generation, to mobilizing as many as possible to help in this task, and to the training and equipping of believers for their part in fulfilling the Great Commission. As citizens of God’s kingdom, we are called to love, worship, and obey our Lord, to love and serve His body, the church, and to present the whole gospel for the whole person throughout the whole world.
Beltway Park provides various ways for you to be the hands and feet of Jesus to this generation through local outreach (The Ramp) and short term mission trips (School of Missions) around the world.
The RampLocal Outreach
There are countless opportunities right here in Abilene to effectively share the gospel. Visit The Ramp for more information and specific ministry opportunities.

Mission Team Information MeetingSunday / January 27 11:25am / B201
If you have any interest in going on a short-term mission trip in 2013 and have not already attended an information meeting please join us on January 27. This is your opportunity to hear about all our trips and ask questions!
To find the trip that best fits you or your family pick up a School of Missions information book in Park Connections in the foyer or visit beltway.org/missions.
School of Missions is the umbrella ministry for all short-term mission teams endeavoring to share the heart of Beltway Park to partner with local churches in the Nations of the earth. The emphasis of the school is team preparation, understanding cross-cultural ministry and service to the local churches we partner with. The School fosters unity of purpose between all of the teams being sent out from Beltway Park. During the year the School of Missions will provide four sessions for mission teams to worship and pray together, and hear a short teaching on various pertinent topics. Participation in these sessions is for all team members.
We encourage everyone to experience the hands-on ministry of sharing Jesus through a short-term mission trip. Whether using a puppet, hammer, stethoscope, playing baseball or engaging in one-on-one evangelism, you’ll have the opportunity to reach the lost and brokenhearted.

In the spring semester we will have a variety of ways for youth to grow in their walk with God. Sunday mornings we will have discipleship groups that are broken down by grade and gender. Wednesday nights we will be hitting real life issues that teenagers are going through today. We also have special events with the biggest being D-Now in February.

KIDS’ CLUB @ THE PARK
Kids’ Club @ the Park staff consists of various high-school and university students from the Abilene area, who are also leaders in our community. Each individual staff member contributes their own unique gifts and talents to our many programs. With our ratio at 1-14, our staff can effectively render the environment in which
your child will grow, laugh, learn and have fun. Most importantly, however, your child will be loved and cared for. From the moment your child steps off the bus, he/she will be greeted by name and with a smile. (All staff have undergone criminal background checks to ensure the safety of each child in our program.)
