You’ve heard the saying “It’s not where you start, but how you
finish.” This certainly applies to this Bible passage. We have a
responsibility not only for our own lives, but for the lives of
others as well. We are called to generously share our gifts with
others, not
hoard them for our own use. Our sincere gratitude and cheerful
generosity will help us live “God-centered” lives and not
“self-centered” lives.
Pope Francis Let us ask the Lord for the grace not to hesitate
when the Spirit calls us to take a step forward. Let us ask for the
apostolic courage to share the Gospel with others and to stop
trying to make our Christian life a museum of memories. In every
situation, may the Holy Spirit cause us to contemplate history in
the light of the risen Jesus. In this way, the Church will not
stand still, but constantly welcome the Lord’s surprises. When we
live apart from others, it is very difficult to fight against
concupiscence, the snares and temptations of the devil and the
selfishness of the world. Bombarded as we are by so many
enticements, we can grow too isolated, lose our sense of reality
and inner clarity, and easily succumb. Pidamos al Señor la gracia

Food, gas, medical expenses and sometimes household items are the
immediate needs. If you can help, please make checks out to St.
Thomas Church with Imigration Relief Fund on the memo line. If you

either gas or food. The need is great and any way you can help will

Friends, Returning to Sunday Mass? You may have heard that
Bishop Hying is restoring the obligation to assist at Mass on
Sundays. (This obligation was lifted On March 12 as the coronavirus
began to spread.) How-ever as Bishop Hying restores this
obligation, he does this with many precautions and with
dispensations. Bishop states that people are dispensed from the
obligation to assist at Mass on Sundays and Holy Days. If attending
Mass poses a significant risk to themselves, to their families, or
to others. This risk can be because of age, health, recent exposure
to coronavirus, or because of difficulty in observing social
distancing or other hygienic measures. If anyone is unable to enter
the church because of limitations on the capacity of the church,
because of the need for social distancing and other hygienic
measures. For St. Jude and St. Thomas Parishes I think that there
should be little change from our practice of the past four months.
The 4 PM Mass at St. Thomas is usually filled to the allowable
capacity. The other Masses could have a few more people. I would
encourage you to consider the weekday Masses (at St. Thomas: 5 PM
Tuesday and 8 AM Thursday; at St. Jude: 8 AM Wednesday and Friday).
There are about fifteen people at these Mass, so social distancing
is easier. If you have any questions, of if you would like more
