Begin Again For years I have sailed Away from a painful past A chance at love I had failed An anchor cannot be cast. The sea nursed my heart The waves offered relief. From love I grew apart, To save myself from grief I often did wonder If it was the right thing to do To live and let my heart cower Thinking it’d help me pull through. Maybe it took me too long To realize that it wasn’t meant to be Love didn’t do me wrong, It only set me free. But after so many years You now came into my life And swept away my fears And end to all the strife I can feel the warmth inside An old, familiar feeling My eyes opened wide, Once again, I’m falling. All the bitterness that I hid under The resentment that I harbored Shed away, layer by layer My heart is slowly restored A story is written anew With my love and this pen It’s all because of you

Begin Again

For years I have sailedAway from a painful past

A chance at love I had failedAn anchor cannot be cast.

The sea nursed my heartThe waves offered relief. From love I grew apart,

To save myself from grief

I often did wonderIf it was the right thing to do

To live and let my heart cowerThinking it’d help me pull through.

Maybe it took me too longTo realize that it wasn’t meant to be

Love didn’t do me wrong,It only set me free.

But after so many yearsYou now came into my lifeAnd swept away my fearsAnd end to all the strife

I can feel the warmth insideAn old, familiar feelingMy eyes opened wide,Once again, I’m falling.

All the bitterness that I hid underThe resentment that I harbored

Shed away, layer by layerMy heart is slowly restored

A story is written anewWith my love and this pen

It’s all because of youI can begin again
