BlueAnt Updater Walkthrough In order to update your BlueAnt device you must first register the device on the BlueAnt website.

Once you have registered you will be able to view a special downloads page where you can access

the BlueAnt Updater.

When you register, remember to select the option to receive updates from BlueAnt so we can notify

you of new firmware and special promotions.

Before Starting: Make Sure Your Display Setting Is Set To 100% Check that your Windows display setting is set to 100%. If you have your display resolution set to

125% or 150%, then some of the buttons in the Updater display outside the window and cannot be

clicked.

To check this setting:

1. Click the Windows Start button and select Control Panel.

2. Click Display.

3. Set the display to Smaller - 100%.

4. Click Apply.

How To Update Your Device 1. Download the BlueAnt Updater Setup file to your computer.

2. Double click on it to run it.

Note: You may see a security warning such as the one below. Click Run to continue.

3. The installer will prompt you to select your language:

4. Select your language and click OK to continue.

5. Wait for the components to install:

Note: This may take some time.

Depending on your Operating System version and the components you already have

installed you may be prompted to accept the download of additional files.

Once this is done the installation process can continue.

6. Click Next.

7. You will now be presented with the End User License Agreement (EULA) for the BlueAnt

Updater.

8. To continue you must accept the terms and then click Next.

9. You will now be presented with the folder where the BlueAnt Updater will be installed. You

can leave this as the default or chose another folder.

You can also see a checkbox for you to indicate if you would like a desktop icon.

10. Click Install.

Note: You may be presented with a notification that the driver for the Updater has not

passed Windows logo testing.

Select Continue Anyway or Install this driver anyway (the option you are given will vary

depending on your Operating System version).

11. When the Updater finishes installing you will see the following message:

Note: If you receive an error during this installation process please wait for the installer to

exit and then start it again.

12. Click Launch. The Updater will download the appropriate language files and updates from

the BlueAnt website.

Once this is complete you should see the following screen:

The buttons across the window are for the following:

Support – takes you to the technical support pages on the BlueAnt website.

Facebook – takes you to BlueAnt’s Facebook page. Like us to keep up with BlueAnt news

on Facebook.

Twitter - takes you to BlueAnt’s twitter feed. Follow us to keep up with the news as it

happens.

News – visit the news pages on the BlueAnt website.

Buy Online – takes you to our shopping cart so you can redeem any promotions we have

sent you.

Register - takes you to the product registration page on our website.

Updates – checks for updates to this Updater program.

To proceed with the update you will need to be connected to the internet, have your

BlueAnt device and the USB cable that came with it.

13. Click Next. You will see some instructions on how to proceed with the update.

14. Follow the steps on the screen.

15. Once your Q3 is plugged in and ready to go the screen should look like this:

If you are not seeing this screen then it probably means that your Q3 is not in update

mode. Try unplugging the cable from the computer end and holding the button on your

device while you plug the computer end back in. Keep the button held down for up to 10

seconds. The screen should change to what you see above.

16. Once you have this screen, Click Next to proceed.

The next screen you see is for selecting the language you want to install onto your device.

As more languages become available for your device they will be added to this list. When

you change the firmware language this changes all of the voice prompts and the voice

recognition on the device.

If you put a language you don’t want on your device you can run the update process again to

change it back.

17. Select the language you prefer and click Next.

You will see a list of available firmware version. The top of the screen tells you what version

you currently have installed on your device.

18. Select the radio button next to the version you want and then click Next.

The Updater will get the firmware from the BlueAnt server and then start updating your

device.

It is very important you do not interrupt the update process as this may result in

permanent damage to your device.

Once your device has successfully completed its update you should see a screen similar to

the one below.

If you have received an error message please restart the updater and start this process

again. If you are still receiving error messages please click the BlueAnt Support button and

you will be taken to our website technical support pages where you can submit a support

request to our customer service team.

When your device has successfully updated please follow the onscreen instructions.
