Presidential Scholarship Honors Scholarship

The Northwest State Community College Presidential Scholarship is a full-tuition, renewable scholarship. Covering tuition for a minimum of 12 and a maximum of 20 credit hours for four (4) consecutive fall and spring terms. Fourteen (14) students will be offered the scholarship.

Eligibility Criteria1. Applicant must be a high school senior from Defiance, Fulton,

Henry, Paulding, Putnam, Van Wert or Williams counties orAnthony Wayne High School.

2. Applicant must be a May/June 2017 graduate with a seven(7) semester grade point average of 3.50 or higher on a 4.00scale.

3. Applicant must earn a minimum ACT composite score of 23and subscores of 18 in English, 21 in reading and 22 in math.

4. Applicant must submit a 500-600 word essay discussing theireducational goals.

5. Applicant must complete an application for admission toNSCC.

6. Students are encouraged to complete the Free Application forFederal Student Aid (FAFSA) to apply for Federal aid to helpoffset any additional educational expenses. NSCC’s FAFSAschool code is 008677.

7. Must be a U.S. citizen or legal resident.

Scholarship UseThe NSCC Presidential Scholarship will be applied to tuition (books and fees not included) only after all other tuition-only scholarships are used. This scholarship will be awarded for a maximum of 20 and a minimum of 12 credit hours per term. Once awarded, a $100 non-refundable deposit will be required to hold the scholarship for each recipient. This money will be credited to the student’s account for future use.

To Renew the ScholarshipThe Presidential Scholarship is renewable for four (4) consecutive fall and spring terms when recipients meet the following criteria:1. Presidential Scholarship recipients must maintain a minimum of

12 and maximum of 20 credit hours each term.2. Maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.0.3. Recipients must complete 20 volunteer hours on campus or an

approved location in the community each term. Students mustregister for community service events online throughVolunteerSpot.

4. Students are encouraged to complete the Free Application forFederal Student Aid (FAFSA) to apply for Federal aid to helpoffset any additional educational expenses. NSCC’s FAFSAschool code is 008677.

In the event that the total number of scholarships is not awarded, the College reserves the right to award additional scholarships to students who meet the eligibility criteria, regardless of their county of residence.

The Northwest State Community College Honors Scholarship is a half-tuition scholarship covering a minimum of 12 and maximum of 20 credit hours per semester, for four (4) consecutive fall and spring terms. Fifty (50) students will be offered the scholarship.

Eligibility Criteria

1. Applicant must be a high school senior from Defiance, Fulton,Henry, Paulding, Putnam, Van Wert or Williams counties orAnthony Wayne High School.

2. Applicant must be a May/June 2017 graduate with a seven(7) semester grade point average of 3.25 or higher on a 4.00scale.

3. Applicant must earn minimum ACT subscores of 18 in English,21 in reading and 22 in math, or minimum ACCUPLACERscores of 5 in WritePlacer, 60 in Reading and either 108 inElementary Algebra or 36 in College Math.

4. Applicant must complete an application for admission to NSCC.5. Students are encouraged to complete the Free Application for

Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to apply for Federal aid to helpoffset any additional educational expenses. NSCC’s FAFSAschool code is 008677.

2. Submit your high school transcripts with your grade pointaverage and ACT scores.

3. Submit the completed application and 500-600 word essay(Presidential Scholarship only) by April 1, 2017.

How to Apply
