INTRODUCTION FOR THE TEACHER. “Tell me and I forget. Teach me and I remember. Involve me and I learn” Benjamin Franklin. Starting with this sentence /quote, we try to make learning English funny and easy. For this reason we are giving you a wide range of suggestions about the play you are going to see. Due to the wide age group of students the play is intended for, each teacher should choose among the activities we suggest, those that fit better to the skills of their students. In the pack, teachers will find all the audio material included, and a complete dossier with the student´s activities printed on separate sheets that can be easily photocopied.

Partiendo de esta frase nos adentramos en la tarea comunicadora que
para nosotros es el teatro. Por ello a continuación os damos una serie de
sugerencias acerca de la función de teatro que vais a ver. Dada la
amplitud del espectro de edad al que va dirigido es imprescindible que
cada docente adecue las actividades que os sugerimos a las
características de su alumnado.
En el material, los profesores encontrarán todos los materiales de audio
incluidos, y un completo dossier con las actividades imprimibles en hojas
separadas para que sean más fácil de fotocopiar.

THE CLASSIC TALE BEAUTY AND THE BEAST EL CUENTO CLÁSICO DE LA BELLA Y LA BESTIA
• We attach the classic tale Beauty and the Beast and the songs that will be sung in the show below. It is interesting that the young audience sing them so they can participate in the play.
• A continuación adjuntamos el cuento clásico de La Bella y la Bestia y las canciones que se cantarán en la obra. Es interesante que los pequeños espectadores las canten para que puedan participar en la función.

BEAUTY AND THE BEAST.
Once upon a time there lived a wealthy merchant and his three daughters. One day, the father was to go to a far-off place and he asked his daughters what they wanted on his return. The first and the second daughter asked for lovely dresses. But the third daughter, whose name was Beauty, said, “Father, I only need a rose plucked by your hand.” The merchant, on his way back, had to cross through the deep forest. It was dark and the merchant tried to find a place to sleep. He suddenly found a huge castle and went inside to find nobody. There was a huge table with delicious food and he ate it all. Then the merchant went into the bedroom and slept on a soft and fluffy bed. The next day, too, the merchant did not

find anyone in the castle. He saw a beautiful rose bush growing in the lawn and remembered Beauty’s gift. He plucked a red rose from the bush. Suddenly, a ferocious looking beast sprang out of the bush. He was wearing fine silk clothes and roared, “I gave you food and a bed to sleep in! And now, you are stealing my roses!” The merchant was frightened and told the Beast about Beauty’s gift. The Beast decided to let him go only if he promised to send Beauty to this castle. The merchant agreed and ran back home. He cried and told his daughters about the Beast. But Beauty loved her father a lot and agreed to go stay with the Beast. The Beast treated Beauty with a lot of kindness. He was never rude to her. He let her stay in the biggest room and let her roam in the beautiful garden. Beauty would sit near the fireplace and sew while the Beast kept her company. At first, Beauty was afraid of the Beast but slowly, she began to like him. One day, the Beast asked Beauty to marry him, but she refused. She was still afraid of his fearful-looking face. The Beast still treated her kindly and with a lot of love. Beauty missed her father a lot. The Beast gave her a magic mirror and said, “Look at the mirror and you can see your family. Now you won’t feel lonely anymore.

One day, Beauty looked in the mirror and saw that father was very ill and dying. She went to the Beast and pleaded and cried, “Please let me go home! I only want to see my father before he dies!” But the Beast roared, “No! You promised you would never leave this castle!” Saying this, he stormed out of the room. But after some time, he came to Beauty and said, “You may go to stay with your father for seven days. But you must promise to return after that.” Beauty was very happy and agreed. Then she left and went to stay with her father. Her father, on seeing Beauty, felt very happy and soon recovered. Beauty stayed with her family for seven days and more. She forgot the Beast and his castle. But one night, she had a terrible nightmare in which she saw the Beast was very ill and about to die. He was crying, “Beauty, please come back!” Beauty woke up and went back to the castle because she did not mean to hurt the Beast. She cried and said, “Please don’t die, Beast! I will live with you forever!” The Beast miraculously changed into a handsome prince. He said, “I was under a curse all these years and could only be relieved when someone fell in love with me. I am now cured of the curse because you truly love me.” And then, Beauty and the Beast were married and together they lived happily ever after.

Y AHORA EN CASTELLANO…
LA BELLA Y LA BESTIA.
Hace muchísimo tiempo había una joven buena y hermosa, a quien las gentes del lugar la llamaban Bella. Llamarla así no era sino una expresión de admiración por la perfección física y espiritual de la muchacha. El padre de la joven, un acaudalado comerciante, cayó, de la noche a la mañana, en la miseria más triste. Así que padre e hija, habituados a la comodidad que acarrean las riquezas, vieron cómo sus amigos de los buenos tiempos ahora se iban alejando. Un buen día en que el padre decidió hacer un viaje hacia una feria, pero desgraciadamente se perdió en el bosque. La noche llegó y, con multitud de sombras y ruidos persiguiéndole, encontró un enorme palacio. Llamó a la puerta y, como nadie contestó, entró en el palacio, recorrió un montón de pasillos lujosos, hasta llegar a una espléndida mesa que estaba servida y comió

cuanto pudo. Cuando sació su hambre, eligió un amplio y mullido lecho y se echó a dormir. Al día siguiente, al continuar el recorrido por el palacio, halló en el establo un caballo perfectamente preparado. Montó en él y, abandonando la señorial mansión, se alejó tranquilamente. Apenas hubo avanzado un trecho, se encontró con un hermosísimo jardín, poblado de exóticas y aromáticas flores. No pudiendo resistir la tentación de recoger, se apeó del caballo y arrancó una linda flor para llevársela a la Bella, su hija. Apenas arrancó la flor, el suelo comenzó a temblar y apareció una bestia horripilante, diciendo: - ¡Insensato! ¡Yo te proporciono el deleite de ver y palpar estas flores, y tú me las robas! ¡Morirás! El hombre repuso: - Dueño de estos dominios: jamás creí hacer daño al coger una hermosa flor para llevarla a mi desolada hija. La Bestia contestó enfadada: - ¡Yo soy la Bestia! Pero ya que tienes una hija, si ella quiere morir en tu lugar, alégrate, estarás sano y salvo. Bella, advertida por un hada buena, acudió al palacio y, a pesar de las súplicas de su padre, insistió quedarse en él. Pero, la Bestia, lejos de hacer pedazos a la joven dama, lo miró con bondad. De modo que todo el palacio lo

dispuso para ella. Sólo la eventual presencia del monstruo turbaba su sosiego. Así, la primera vez que la Bestia entró a sus habitaciones, creyó morir de terror. Pero, con el tiempo, fue acostumbrándose a su desagradable compañía. Bestia, comenzó a sentir algo hacia Bella, pero a ella no le convencía su forma de ser. Con el paso de los días, Bestia cambió su forma de ser y de actuar. Bella veía cada vez más que tenía una belleza interior insuperable y que detrás de esa fea apariencia existía un enorme corazón. Se conocieron más y más, y después de mucho tiempo, comenzaron a quererse. Ambos terminaron declarándose su amor y, de inmediato, sucedió un milagro: la Bestia se transformó en un apuesto príncipe. Y éste exclamó completamente feliz: - ¡Bella, mi hermosa Bella! Yo era un príncipe condenado a vivir bajo la apariencia de un monstruo, hasta que una joven hermosa consintiese en ser mi esposa. Ahora que esto ha sucedido, pongo a tus pies, a la par de mi profundo amor, mis riquezas. En ese momento, la Bella le dio su mano y lo hizo ponerse de pie. Y mirándose cariñosamente, ambos se estrecharon en un largo y fuerte abrazo. Y, como es de suponer, se casaron y fueron muy felices. FIN

make another cubecraft that reflects one of my favorite movies. I think Beauty
and the Beast has some of the best characters one can find in Disney as well
as some of the best music. I still find myself singing songs from this movie. I
have to admit that I even bought this film in 3D just so I can feel like I am there
in the movie (I love 3D movies ).

I believe I also relate to Belle, a strange girl in a town that just doesn’t understand her. I
am not sure how many people thought I was strange or still do, but I am sure it adds up
to a lot. Just read my blog and you know I have a very random mind and fall under the
term “Super Nerd” or “Uber Geek”

Build the Cubecraft:
Materials needed: Printer Card stock scissors x-acto knife
To make: BODY 1. Cut out each item along the outer black lines. 2. Cut along the white on each tab using the x-acto knife including the ones on either side of the dace 3. Cut along each red line using the x-acto knife 4. Fold along each inner solid black line and slide each tab into the slots you created with an x-acto knife to form a cube of the head, body, arms, and feet 5. Slide the arms through the red slots on either side of the body. 6. Slide the feet through the red slots at the base of the body. 7. Slide the now completed body through the red lots of the head. 8. slide the tabs of the hair into the slots on either side of the face
The Cubeecraft is now complete. Use the image above for an example of how it should look when completed if you are having any troubles.

YOU ONLY NEED TO PUT A FLASHLIGHT BETWEEN THE SHAPES AND THE WALL. AND NOW ... MAKE UP YOUR OWN STORY!
