The history of Plumb’InThe

Journey

Plumb’In was established to “plug” a leak in the New Zealand marketplace.

Drawing on the experience of a career marketing bathroom and kitchenware in New Zealand and overseas, Plumb’In founder Walter Goldstein identified consid-erable loss of revenue to manufacturers, importers and re-sellers through not having an established, independent retail outlet for cost-effectively quitting discontinued-product, end of lines, seconds, samples, etc.

Not only were sellers missing out, so too were potential customers. Walter knew homeowners, small-business plumbers and builders would respond favourable to the opportunity of easy access to quality product at factory prices in an environment providing high levels of technical and customer service.

Walter did the hard yards, developing and presenting his strategy to manufacturers, importers and resellers. Support was immediate and positive.

The growth of Plumb’In has been phenomenal and continues unabated.The decision was made to go nationwide. Numerous avenues for national expansion were reviewed. All lead to the same conclusion. Franchise!A comprehensive franchise development programme was implemented. And the first franchise store opened in Whangarei in 2006.
