Born for AdversityBearing One Another’s Burdens
in the Family of God
Christ is our example“Surely He has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows…” (Isaiah 53:4)
Consider what Jesus did for Peter:• Jesus prayed for Peter in time of trial (Luke
22:31-32)• Jesus comforted & strengthened Peter when
he was at his lowest (Matt. 26:75; Mark 16:7; John 21)
What Jesus did for Peter, He expected Peter to do
for others!
What Jesus did for us, we are to do for others!
•We lay down our lives for brethren (1 John 3:16)•We are born for adversity! (Proverbs
17:17)• Like Paul, we are willing to suffer like Christ for the welfare of brethren (Col. 1:24; 2 Cor. 12:15)• And brethren are willing to reciprocate
(Galatians 4:13-15; 2 Corinthians 7:4-7)
You are born for Adversity!
• We are born to be companions in tribulation! (Revelation 1:9)• We have been comforted in order to comfort others!
(2 Corinthians 1:3-4)• Let us comfort one another with love and
forgiveness! (2 Corinthians 2:6-7)“Bear one another's burdens, and so fulfill
the law of Christ” (Galatians 6:2)
