Views expressed in this match programme are those of individuals and not of Beaconsfi eld Town.

We extend a warm welcome to the players and offi cials of Hayes & Yeading United and AFC Dunstable for these Evo-Stik League South, East matches. We hope you have a pleasant stay with us along with the referees and their assistants.

While most of the Beaconsfi eld Town players have been enjoying life towards the top of the table there have been a select few who have experienced the ups and downs at the other end.

Not in our division but at Step Five as several of our players, who are either on the fringes or coming back from injury have been turning out for AFC Hayes in the Cherry Red Records Combined Counties League.

There have been occasions when The Brook could have been mistaken for The Rams with the likes of Michael Peacock, Jerome Eccleston, Stefan Powell, James Taylor, and Ollie Jones having turned out in recent games.

Add to that group former Rams players Ryan Phillips and Spencer Maw and you nearly have a Beaconsfi eld Town B side especially if you include goalkeeper Samuel Szymczyk and Keiron Cathline both of whom have been on the verge of selection at Holloways Park.

There must be a reason for the close connection with AFC Hayes. Maybe it is that the new coach at Farm Park, Jordan Berry played under Gary Meakin when they were both at Egham Town.

As you may be aware the League season has been extended by a week for those clubs who are not involved in promotion or relegation including play-offs contention. Aylesbury face Egham Town and Hanwell Town host Kempston Rovers on 1st May.

5Beaconsfi eld Town v Hayes & Yeading United/AFC Dunstable

FROM THE BENCHI welcome both Hayes & Yeading United and AFC Dunstable to Holloways Park for back to back home Evo-Stik South, East league fi xtures. I also welcome Paul Hughes, Steve Heath and their management teams. I wish them well for the the rest of what has been a good season for them. Both away fi xtures were very competitive games and I am expecting very much the same in the reverse fi xtures.

I write these notes following our successive away wins at Hanwell Town and Moneyfi elds. Those two games were quite a contrast to each other in the way that the games went and I was pleased how we adapted to the demands of what was required to win them both. These two games are the second and third in a run of fi ve games in ten days which, although obviously challenging, has given me the opportunity to rotate the squad and keep everybody fi t and fresh. The group of players I have here at Beaconsfi eld is probably the best I’ve had as a manager both in ability and character and in the last three games some very good players have not even made the match day 16 but have shown the character

and close team bond that they have by standing on the sidelines cheering us on and waiting for it to be their turn to contribute.

Enjoy today’s gameMeaks

KEZIE IBE

On an energy sapping surface Beaconsfi eld took the lead on seven minutes when a James Taylor corner was met by Jerome Eccleston who headed past Tom Price in The Moneys goal. Eight minutes later the home goalkeeper then made an almighty hash of punching away a clearance, the ball falling kindly to Tony Mendy who needed no second invitation to slot it into the empty net.

Moneyfi elds are a decent, if physical team, well drilled at set pieces, and they were back in the game on 22 minutes when Joe Briggs got on the end of a long clearance to shoot past Nick Hamann in The Rams goal. However, just as the home side’s momentum was

building up Beaconsfi eld struck again – a 33rd minute free kick from Taylor found Baj Pashaj who in turn fed Kezie Ibe who fi red past Price to put the visitors 3-1 up. Jordan Ajanlekoko had a decent chance to make it four on 41 minute but his header went just over while four minutes later the home side were lucky not to have a man sent off when Brett Poate pulled back Mendy as the striker bore down on goal.

The second period saw the home side move up a gear and on 49 minutes Sam Pearce sent in a 30 yard shot / cross that fl ew past Hamman to put his team right back in it. The game then fl owed back and forth as both sides created chances – Hamann made good saves in the 50th and 58th minutes, AJ put a header over on 51 minutes, Baj scooped a good chance wide on 58 minutes and on 68 minutes he saw a great goal bound free-kick tipped over by Price. He had another free kick cannon off the bar on 77 minutes. In time added on the ball found the tireless Ibe and just as he made for the corner to run down the clock he then slipped the ball goal-wards where a grateful Lee Barney was lurking to tap home his sixth goal in seven days.

12 Beaconsfi eld Town v Hayes & Yeading United/AFC Dunstable

AFC Dunstable started life as Old Dunstablians Football Club in 1981. The name Old Dunstablians originated from an organisation formed in 1888 for old boys from Dunstable Grammar School.

The most famous member of the club is Hollywood actor Gary Cooper, who attended the school in the early 1900s.

When the Grammar School closed and Manshead School opened they took over the mantle but the Old Boys club was in decline.

In 1981 the head teacher was asked if he could re launch the name, hence the football club was born. By 1988 after its centenary, the Old Dunstablians Club ceased to exist but the football club carried on in commemoration and to this day still bears the club crest on its badge.

The 2015-16 campaign was the season that

the team broke all club records. Before clinching the SSMFL Premier Division title, they progressed through two rounds of the FA Cup before fi nally going out to Ryman Premier leaders at the time Leiston in the First Qualifying Round. The FA Vase was a great ride as the team made it to the Fourth Round proper before being knocked out by phoenix side Salisbury who were in the Football Conference two seasons earlier.

So, 2016-17 saw us compete in the Southern League Central Division, a position we never thought we would see the club at. We competed nearly all season in a play-off place right up to the last game of the season just to miss out by three points.

The team though did pick up some silverware winning the prestigious Bedfordshire Senior Cup after clinching a 2-0 victory over Dunstable Town. At the beginning of this season, the Bedfordshire Premier Cup was also won.

Jamie Head: Jamie returns to AFC, after a couple of seasons with us as a youth player. Tall and agile goalkeeper, he has plenty of Southern League experience for someone so young.

Bill Morgan: Bill is an elegant centre-half,who has been coveted by many clubs since joining AFC Dunstable midway through our SSMFL championship winning season.

Christian Tavernier: Another player who has spent time at Luton Town. Another new signing this season, after fi ve years at Arlesey Town, where he was a regular goal scorer.

Manager Steve Heath joined the club midway through the 2013-14 season. The fi rst team was in disarray due to the former management duo resigning. Many of the players decided to leave, so Steve had a massive rebuilding job to do.He guided the team to a mid-table position in the SSMFL Premier Division and handed so many youngsters fi rst team debuts.

The 2014-15 season saw him re- strengthen the side which saw us fi nish third in the league. The following season the club went all out to clinch the Premier Division title and success was achieved. Last season saw Steve’s and the club’s fi rst attempt at Step Four. A very respectful seventh place was secured and the Bedfordshire Senior Cup was won. At the beginning of this season, a 2-0 win over Luton Town saw him lift the Bedfordshire Premier Cup.

14 Beaconsfi eld Town v Hayes & Yeading United/AFC Dunstable

Hayes & Yeading United Football Club was created in May 2007 when the two clubs’ - Hayes and Yeading - respective chairmen, Derek Goodall and Philip Spurden agreed that the only way either club could continue, long term, at the level they were playing would be to join forces as a single entity.

After a season of consolidation, the newly merged side took many people by surprise in 2008-09 when a late season Conference South record equalling run of ten consecutive victories saw a play-off place earned.

Looking dead and buried at 4-0 down after 50 minutes of the semi-fi nal fi rst leg, only a dreamer would have predicted a place in the fi nal.

Dreams do come true though and two late fi rst leg goals and a 4-0 extra time victory in the second leg at Eastleigh saw the fi nal reached. A tight fi nal ensued but Hampton &

Richmond Borough were seen off by the odd goal in fi ve and promotion was achieved to the pinnacle of non-league football, the Blue Square Premier.

United more than held their own in the top fl ight for the fi rst two seasons but with a much reduced budget and fi ve years of ground sharing due to the late completion of the club’s new stadium, United hit the relegation trap-door in April 2012 and again in April 2016 and April 2017 and now fi nd themselves in the Southern East Division with the new club fi nally beginning its life in a new stadium in 2017-18.

Hayes & Yeading United have shown signs this season that they are on their way back although an automatic promotion position may be out of their grasp as they have played more games than their closest rivals.

However they should make the play-offs if there are not too many disasters.

Rams Man of the Match BAJRAM PASHAJ

A fantastic performance by every player in a Beaconsfi eld shirt saw The Rams chalk up another impressive away win and move to the top of the league in the process.

Though in-form Lee Barney had a third minute shot saved by ex-Ram Sam Bunting, it was the hosts who took the lead when a ninth minute shot by Charlie Mitchell took a strong defl ection to wrong foot Rams goalkeeper Nick Hamann. The lead didn’t last long, however, as Beaconsfi eld equalised in spectacular fashion on twelve minutes when a clearance by Bunting fell to Nathan Webb on the half-way line. Spotting Bunting way off his line he calmly lobbed the ball from inside the centre circle over the stranded keeper for a defi nite ‘Goal Of The Season’ contender.

The busy Scott Cousins nearly scored on 24 minutes when his cross hit the Hanwell post and then a minute later the lively Meagim Qarri had a decent run and shot just over for the

home side. Sixty seconds later The Rams took the lead as a training ground free-kick routine found Lee Barney in space and he gave Bunting no chance with a powerful shot.On 29 minutes Reece Yorke shot over when well placed and then on 33 minutes Cousins went on a run, played a one-two with Aaron Minhas and fed the ball to Barney who again slotted past Bunting to make it 3-1 to The Rams. Barney then turned provided just before half time as he set up Baj Pashaj who’s mazy run ended with one of his trademark curling efforts that left Bunting clutching thin air.

The second period was always going to be a little less spectacular though Minhas could have scored almost straight from the restart as a fi ne-fl owing Rams move saw him scuff his fi nal shot. Hanwell in fairness never gave up and had some decent periods of possession though the fi nal killer pass or shot was always missing and Rams goalkeeper Hamann never had to make a save of note.

On 63 minutes sub Kezie Ibe made it 5-1 and scored his fi rst goal in a Beaconsfi eld shirt when he followed up from a Lee Barney shot that was parried by Bunting. Two minutes later a superb Rams move that involved precision one-touch passing from Stefan Powell, Aaron Minhas, Baj Pashaj and Kezzie Ibe set up Barney and only a fi ne stop by Bunting prevented another ‘Goal Of The Season’ contender. Great to watch!

Rams Man of the Match LEE BARNEY

A Lee Barney hat-trick helped Beaconsfi eld record their biggest win for many years as they completed a league double over lowly Arlesey Town.

After dominating the early exchanges, The Rams opened the scoring on 28 minutes, when Lee Barney poached the ball in midfi eld and set up strike partner Tony Mendy.Mendy turned provider four minutes later when his pass found Andre Costa who hit an unstoppable effort past Elsom to give the home side a little breathing space going in to the half-time break.Beaconsfi eld did manage to get a third on 74 minutes when Barney was pulled to the ground in the area by Billy Plumpton. The defender was dismissed and Barney calmly slotted away the resulting penalty. Down to ten men Arlesey were simply over run by their hosts with two further goals from Barney with the other effort coming from Wes Daly.

EVO-STIK LEAGUE SOUTH, EAST REVIEW The Evo-Stik League South East title race is still wide open after the top four all won last weekend, leaving just four points separating them.

Beaconsfi eld Town slipped into top spot on Thursday and remain a point ahead after winning 4-2 at Moneyfi elds. Jerome Eccleston and Tony Mendy gave Town a two-goal lead by the 16th minute, with Joe Briggs reducing the arrears in the 23rd minute. Kezie Ibe made it 3-1 in the 34th minute, only for Sam Pearce to pull Moneys back into the game 10 minutes after the break. But a Lee Barney goal in stoppage time settled the game in Beaconsfi eld’s favour.

Second-placed AFC Rushden & Diamonds were looking to get back on track after four successive draws. A terrifi c crowd of 626 on a ‘pay what you want’ day saw them ease to a 4-1 win against Aylesbury United, leading 2-0 at the break through Ryan Robbins and Spencer Weir-Daley. A Liam Dolman own goal gave the Ducks hope in the 63rd minute, but Joe Curtis on 75 minutes and Tom Lorraine two minutes from time sealed a comfortable win for the hosts.

Hayes & Yeading United have only two games left so need a massive shift of form to see them take an automatic spot, although a 6-1 home win over Egham Town won’t do their chances any harm. Manny Duku bagged a brace, Tommy Smith, Sahr Kabba, Spyros Mentis and Duncan Culley singles, with Mitch Wiseman having equalised for the Sarnies.

Hartley Wintney are still in with an outside chance and have four games left and trail by four points after a 4-0 home win over Uxbridge, courtesy of a Nic Ciardini hat-trick and one from Dean Stow from the spot.AFC Dunstable and Cambridge City occupy the other play-off spots but shared a 2-2 draw at Creasey Park in which the home side led 2-0 through BJ Christie and Leon Cashman by the 16th minute. Ryan Sharman reduced the defi cit on 71 minutes and then eight minutes into time added on at the end of the game James Hall hauled City level.

Chalfont St Peter still have a chance of catching the top six, but a 1-1 draw at home to Kempston Rovers didn’t help their hopes as they are fi ve points behind City with four games to go. They almost got nothing from the game though as Josh Crawley gave the Walnut Boys the lead with only nine minutes to go before George Fenton rescued the Saints in stoppage time.

Who goes down is still, remarkably, open – just! Arlesey Town’s 3-2 defeat at home to Hanwell Town leaves them 15 points behind Barton Rovers with 18 points left to play for.

Barton suffered a 5-2 defeat at Thame United, whose Lynton Goss grabbed a hat-trick and Dan West a brace – Andrew Phillips and Michael Gyasi replying.

Elsewhere, Brad Wilson’s ninth minute penalty earned Fleet Town the points at Calthorpe Park against Northwood.

ROUND THE PYRAMIDMARLOW: Saturday’s game in the Evo-Stik League South East between Marlow and Ashford Town (Middx) was postponed due to a lack of home team players present at the Alfred Davis Memorial Ground at kick-off time.

At around 1.45pm, with only one member of the Marlow playing squad at the ground, manager Mark Bartley was trying to make contact with the players who had previously been advised of their selection to establish their whereabouts but was unable to make any contact by telephone or received text replies of ‘not available’.

Neither the club nor manager had been made aware of anything untoward prior to this time.

The match offi cials and Ashford Town (Middx) offi cials were immediately notifi ed of the situation as was the Southern League.

Time was given to see if the situation could be resolved but at 3pm with the situation unchanged Marlow confi rmed that they were not in a position to fulfi l the fi xture which was consequently postponed.

The club and the manager are trying to establish further details of why this happened.

Marlow apologised to the Southern League, Ashford Town (Middx) the match offi cials and all those who attended the ground or who were affected or inconvenienced by this issue.

MIDWEEK GAMES: AFC Rushden & Diamonds moved back to the top of the Evo-Stik League South, East following their 1-0 win over AFC Dunstable but now had played two games more than their closest rivals Beaconsfi eld Town.Arlesey Town were offi cally relegated following their 2-0 home defeat by fellow strugglers Aylesbury. Following their non-appearance on Saturday, Marlow players returned to clinch a 1-1 draw at Chalfont St Peter while Egham Town suffered a 2-1 home defeat by Moneyfi elds.In other games, Barton Rovers drew 2-2 with Kempston Rovers and Ashford Town (Middx) played out a 1-1 scoreline with Thame United.Cambridge City kept their automatic promotion hopes alive with a 3-0 home win against Hanwell Town on Monday evening.

23Beaconsfi eld Town v Hayes & Yeading United/AFC Dunstable

My mum is annoyed. Not, this time, at one of my life decisions. This time, it’s a former England cricketer who has got her goat. Phil Tufnell. You have a lot to answer for.

A few weeks back on Question of Sport, it came to the questionable miming/description round.

For those who don’t watch the BBC quiz, a word is fl ashed up on the screen. A sport, personality, action – you get the picture. The team captains have to act out the word for their team to guess correctly and much hilarity ensues.

So, a few weeks ago, up came the phrase: Non-League football. Tuffers – as we are obliged to call him with this a programme high on ‘banter’ – mimed passing a football and said, ‘When you’re not very good at doing that’.

Well, let me tell you reader, I was watching that day too and, like Mrs B, the red mist descended. Not very good!? NOT VERY GOOD!?

Look, of course Question of Sport is not a thing to be getting riled up about.

There are far more important issues going on in the world - like, why do self-service tills give 20p of change in coppers? - but it was a little window into how non-league is perceived at times.

Yes, players are at this level for a reason but we all know about the talent pool outside the Football League.

Many have had long successful professional careers and are winding down their days for enjoyment, others have cottoned onto

the fact they can earn their best money by combining a decent job with a part-time football gig in the EVO-STIK Leagues.

Clearly the players at the elite level are operating on a different planet but you get an equally, if not more so, entertaining 90 minutes in non-league football.

I think fi rst-timers are often surprised at how good the quality of play is at these levels. Throw in the rest of the package – cheaper entry, better food, drink in the bar before and after – and it makes for an enjoyable day out.

Maybe it’s a chip on the shoulder effect, but do you often feel like you have to defend non-league football?

Like when the FA Cup rolls around and all the Butcher, Baker and Candlestick maker stories appear in the national papers. ‘He works on a building site and can pass the ball to a team-mate – it’s incredible!’

Last season during Lincoln City’s FA Cup run, a press box colleague asked if the Imps were full-time and did I know what jobs some of the players had before.

Less than 20 minutes later, they’d knocked out Premier League Burnley to reach the FA Cup quarter-fi nals.

More and more players are getting their chance in the Football League and beyond – even the managers are being given a chance now as League chairmen realise the game is played on the same size pitch with goals at both ends.

So, let’s keep fi ghting non-league’s corner. Even my mum is!

Matt Badcock

Beaconsfi eld cane from a shock fi rst half defi cit to overrun their hosts with a strong second 45 performance that saw them once again move back to the top of the league.

The recent fi ne weather had dried the Aylesbury pitch to a playable level but it for sure had lots of humps and bumps that made control awkward for both sets of players. Nonetheless The Rams soon got into their stride and should have scored on 13 minutes when Lee Barney fl ew down the wing and sent a perfect ball across the face of The Moles goal but no-one was lurking to tap it home.

Aaron Minhas tried to chip Ashley Jenkins on 29 minutes as did Alex Cathline on 37 minutes whilst Minhas follow up was cleared of the line by a Moles defender as Beaconsfi eld went in search of the opening goal.

It wasn’t until the 44th minute that the home side mounted an attack worthy of the name and it resulted in a goal! A corner bounced around The Rams area and was eventually prodded home by Alex Woodfi ne.

Manager Gary Meakin shuffl ed his side at the start of the second half, bringing on Bajram Pashaj and Tony Mendy and this gave The Rams a much needed boost. On 48 minutes Baj went on one of his mazy runs and pulled the ball back for Barney who blazed wide when well placed. Sixty seconds later Barney set up Baj who saw his shot crash back off the post.

There was much more of an urgency and buzz about the Beaconsfi eld play especially with the introduction of Scott Cousins who’s fi rst participation saw him set up Mendy on 61 minutes to poke home a deserved equalizer. Two minutes later a Rams corner found the head of Mendy who sent it way out of the reach of Jenkins to put the visitors in front.

The comeback was complete on 70 minutes when Baj twisted and turned his way past The Moles defence to send a curler past Jenkins and in off the post, a fi ne solo effort that put the game beyond Aylesbury. Mendy then passed up an opportunity to score his hat-trick when a great Callum Webb cross found him in space at the back post but for once his shooting boots deserted him and he poked it wide.

Rams keeper Nick Hamann never had a save to make the whole game and the three points were no less than Beaconsfi eld deserved. Going to be an ‘interesting’ next seven days, that’s for sure!

Come On You Rams!

Changing face of match offIcials

Previously there has been a perception of who a referee is and what they look like – now they come from all walks of life and backgrounds.

We meet our new Level 3 referees every July. You could line those 90-100 people up in any walk of life and you wouldn’t necessarily pick them out as referees. They are young, many from BAME backgrounds and more and more females – probably not what you’d expect 20 or 30 years ago.

People are really seeing refereeing as a career where they can really achieve. This could either be at the elite level, where it can be a full-time career, or taking charge of games in front of big crowds, even in Non-League football.

People really aspire to take charge of important games where they can have a really positive infl uence.

Every game matters to players, managers, clubs and supporters – but also referees. If they have ambition to progress, they know they also need to perform.

One bad decision could change your season. Just like promotion and relegation for clubs, it’s the same for offi cials.

For every game someone referees, there are two marks – one from each club. There are also observers out watching and that is put into an Observers Merit List. The two are compared and more often than not, are not too dissimilar.

If you’re showing in a season you are consistently one of the best referees, you have a good chance of promotion.

It’s much like a player culture. If you prove you are good enough you will get an opportunity at the next level.

Why should you be held back if you’re the best National League North referee even if you are in your early 20s? Similarly if you’re 52 – just because you have less active years in front of you, it doesn’t mean you shouldn’t be able to progress up.

It gives service to competition and also rewards the referee.

From Non-League to the World Cup Final

The National League System structure in this country provides an unbelievable learning experience for English match offi cials. As a country we are blessed we have this 150-year-old structure that has effected itself now into such a strong Pyramid.

In the ninth tier of football in this country can mean refereeing in front of 1,000 people. In other countries the ninth tier could be a local park. So it’s real credit to the structure, the clubs, the teams and the players for providing such good quality for referees to get such good experience at what can be an early stage of their career. You grow with the Pyramid.

We always use Howard Webb as the example. Like every referee we now see in the Premier League, he came through the National League System. He was in charge of Northern Counties East games, the Northern Premier League and so on. In 2010, he took charge of the World Cup Final between Spain and Netherlands.

HISTORY OF THE RAMSThough formed as recently as the summer of 2017 the roots of Beaconsfi eld Town stem from Beaconsfi eld SYCOB which was founded in 1994 following an amalgamation between Beaconsfi eld United and Slough Youth Centre Old Boys - hence the ‘SYCOB’ in the then club’s name.

United dated back to 1921 and were themselves a coming together of two local teams. Slough Youth Centre formed their fi rst football team in 1938 and entered the Slough & District Minors League. The advent of the Second World War meant that when many of the players returned from National Service they were no longer boys so hence the additional ‘Old Boys’ tag was added to their name. Stints in the Windsor, Slough & District League, the East Berkshire League and then the Chiltonian League saw them make solid progress on the pitch but off it, due to a lack of ground provisions, they were unable to advance further so sought a ground sharing agreement with Beaconsfi eld United at Holloways Park. With United themselves struggling on and off the fi eld at the time the decision was taken to amalgamate the two clubs and so Beaconsfi eld SYCOB was born.

Initially playing in the London Spartan Premier Division, and with Fred Deanus as chairman Beaconsfi eld chalked up a series of top fi ve fi nishes before fi nally winning the league in 2000-01 under the guidance of Simon Delahunty. However they were refused promotion to the Isthmian League due to some harsh technicalities over the terms of their lease with Hall Barn Estates. A further three seasons were spent in the Spartan South Midlands Premier Division before SYCOB again won the league in 2003-04 and this time gained promotion to the Southern Football League - Division One East. With a brand new clubhouse and a strong committee, The Rams made solid progress in their early years at Step Four and over three seasons played in three different leagues – Division One East, Division One West and fi nally Division One South & West from where they were relegated in 2006-07. However the appointment of ex-player Jamie Jarvis, ably assisted by Peter Scott and with

Bob Breen as chairman, saw The Rams not only win the Spartan South Midlands Premier Division at the fi rst attempt but also win the Berks & Bucks Senior Trophy and the SML Premier Division Trophy, a fantastic treble of silverware.

Promoted to Division One South & West, the club fi nished a highly creditable fourth place and made the play-offs before losing out to AFC Totton. Moving to the Southern League Midland Division for 2009-10 and with Fred Deanus returning as chairman, SYCOB then went through a succession of managers, players, highs and lows until fi nishing in bottom place in 2010-11. Only a reprieve and a league restructure saved The Rams from the drop but since then they have gone on to over achieve for a club of its size. Under the guidance of Byron Walton they fi nished fi fth in the 2011-12 season and lost out in the play-off fi nal to Bedworth United. The following season and with James Pritchard at the helm they again fi nished fi fth but lost out to Rugby Town in a play-off semi-fi nal though the season did fi nish with some silverware following a fi ne win over Chesham United in the Berks & Bucks Senior Cup.

2013-14 saw Gary Meakin take over as manager just fi ve days before the start of the season and with only fi ve players on the clubs books – to fi nish eighth and reach the quarter-fi nals of the League Cup was a fi ne achievement as was a runner-up spot in the Berks & Bucks Senior Cup, Chesham United gaining revenge for defeat 12 months earlier.

The 2014-15 season saw Beaconsfi eld begin a partnership with the FAB Academy who provided the bulk of the teams players under the stewardship of Andy Hurley and Nas Bashir. That partnership continued into 2015-16 season with Geoff Warner as manager as The Rams fi nished in a respectable ninth place whilst the 2016-17 season saw them under the joint stewardship of Andy Hurley and Leigh Wooldridge and ended with a 16th place league fi nish though a run to the Fourth Qualifying Round of the FA Cup was a ‘best ever’ for SYCOB. The 2017-18 season sees Gary Meakin installed as the fi rst manager of Beaconsfi eld Town.
