DINNER SPEAKER - John Stammreich Manager, Services & Support Subcontracts Raytheon

Chairman, 54th Assembly District

Republican Central Committee

John joined Raytheon in 2007 after 5 years with Northrop Grumman, primarily with the Space Technology Sector. As the Program Subcontracts Manager responsible for supporting the Directed Energy Systems group, John's programs included the Mobile Tactical High-Energy Laser (MTHEL), the Joint High Powered Solid-State Laser (JHPSSL), the Strategic Illuminator Laser (SILL) and part-time support for the Airborne Laser (ABL). John also spent one year as Northrop Grumman Corporate Manager of Suppler Quality before joining Raytheon Space and Airborne Systems in El Segundo in April 2007 as a Material Program Manager. At Raytheon Space & Airborne Systems, John was responsible for supply chain management of key classified programs within the National Space organization. In April 2008, John transferred to Raytheon Technical Services Company, LLC, to assume leadership of the Services and Support Subcontracts Group, comprised of 16 subcontracts managers and administrators throughout the United States. Programs supported by John’s group include the Counter Narcoterrorism Program Office (CNTPO), STARS, Taiwan HADR, and the Antarctic Support Contract (ASC).

In addition to his aerospace career, John serves as the chairman of the Republican Central Committee of the 54th Assembly District, re-elected to a 2nd term in December 2008. John was re-elected to the committee in the June 2008 state primary, and has served on numerous campaigns on the federal, state and local level. John has not been afraid to break away from his party, primarily on local elections, to work for whom he calls “the right candidate” in key elections, and currently serves on the City of Los Angeles Department of Water & Power (DWP) Neighborhood Council Committee as the 15th Council District liaison. John is currently leading the campaign to defeat Proposition B, a significant DWP rate hike, on the city of Los Angeles March 2009 ballot.

Prior to his aerospace and defense career, John was a USN Surface Warfare Officer, serving tours as Gunnery Officer (USS AINSWORTH, FFT-1090) and as Communications Officer (USS PONCE, LPD-15), as well as serving as Command Legal Officer during both tours. John is a 1992 graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy with a B.S. in Engineering. In addition to his engineering degree from the Naval Academy, John holds an MBA from Regis University in Boulder, CO as well as a Professional Designation in Government Contracts Management from the University of California, Los Angeles extension program. John resides in San Pedro, CA, with his wife of 6 years, Andrea, and his two daughters, AnneMarie – 4 years, and Violet – 6 months.

NCMA is looking for volunteers to help during the upcoming World Congress, set to be held July 18-21, in

Ft. Lauderdale, FL.  The ideal candidate will:

Have a positive attitude

Work well with others

Be a current NCMA member

This is an opportunity for individuals to participate and contribute time to the professional association.  Volunteers at NCMA’s past events and conferences have found the experience to be both rewarding and enjoyable.

There are a very limited amount of volunteer slots available.

Members wishing to volunteer will need to send their own e-mail (include name, e-mail address, phone number and chapter name), to [email protected] by April 15th.  NCMA will compile the volunteer list, assign tasks and notify those volunteers selected, in early-May.  There are no guarantees in the selection process, though priority is given to students, CMLDP’s, and local chapters first.  The volunteer positions are to be held by one individual NCMA member and may not be shared between two conference attendees or two NCMA members.   In exchange for individual volunteer support of the conference (1 full day of work), NCMA will extend a complimentary Congress registration. You must be notified by NCMA that they are officially on the accepted list in order to receive the complimentary registration.  Members who receive an assignment will agree to work the day, time and task that is assigned to them.  If you are unable to work one full day, and or the date, time and task assigned, we will offer that position to one of our waitlisted volunteers.

Not included in the complimentary registration are:

Golf Tournament

Gala Dinner

Pre and Post conference workshops

Any other special events

Should you be chosen and wish to register for any of the events that reflect an additional charge, you can do so after receiving the volunteer email confirmation that will be sent in early-May.  A complimentary volunteer registration form will be included with that email, and payment for those functions must be included upon submission of that form.     NCMA does NOT cover personal hotel, travel, parking or other expenses.     If you have any questions please contact Rita Rose, via email, at [email protected].  We look forward to working with our volunteer members from across the country. Please remember-the deadline to submit your name is April 15th.
