1. SAFETY INFORMATION

Before the installation and use of the appliance, careful-ly read the supplied instructions. The manufacturer isnot responsible if an incorrect installation and use cau-ses injuries and damages. Always keep the instructionswith the appliance for future reference.

1.1 Children and vulnerable people safetyWARNING!Risk of suffocation, injury or permanent disability.

• This appliance can be used by children aged from 8years and above and persons with reduced physical,sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experienceand knowledge if they are supervised by an adult or aperson who is responsible for their safety.

• Do not let children play with the appliance.• Keep all packaging away from children.• Keep children and pets away from the appliance

when it operates or when it cools down. Accessibleparts are hot.

• If the appliance has a child safety device, we recom-mend that you activate it.

• Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made bychildren without supervision.

1.2 General Safety• Internally the appliance becomes hot when in opera-

tion. Do not touch the heating elements that are inthe appliance. Always use oven gloves to remove orput in accessories or ovenware.

• Do not use a steam cleaner to clean the appliance.• Before maintenance cut the power supply.• Do not use harsh abrasive cleaners or sharp metal

scrapers to clean the glass door since they can

scratch the surface, which may result in shattering ofthe glass.

• To remove the shelf supports first pull the front of theshelf support and then the rear end away from theside walls. Install the shelf supports in the oppositesequence.

2. SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

2.1 InstallationWARNING!Only a qualified person must in-stall this appliance.

• Remove all the packaging.• Do not install or use a damaged appli-

ance.• Obey the installation instruction sup-

plied with the appliance.• Always be careful when you move the

appliance because it is heavy. Alwayswear safety gloves.

• Do not pull the appliance by the han-dle.

• Keep the minimum distance from theother appliances and units.

• Make sure that the appliance is instal-led below and adjacent safe struc-tures.

• The sides of the appliance must stayadjacent to appliances or to units withthe same height.

Electrical connectionWARNING!Risk of fire and electrical shock.

• All electrical connections should bemade by a qualified electrician.

• The appliance must be earthed.• Make sure that the electrical informa-

tion on the rating plate agrees withthe power supply. If not, contact anelectrician.

• Always use a correctly installed shock-proof socket.

• Do not use multi-plug adapters andextension cables.

• Make sure not to cause damage to themains plug and to the mains cable.Contact the Service or an electrician tochange a damaged mains cable.

• Do not let mains cables to come intouch with the appliance door, spe-cially when the door is hot.

• The shock protection of live and insu-lated parts must be fastened in such away that it cannot be removed withouttools.

• Connect the mains plug to the mainssocket only at the end of the installa-tion. Make sure that there is access tothe mains plug after the installation.

• If the mains socket is loose, do notconnect the mains plug.

• Do not pull the mains cable to discon-nect the appliance. Always pull themains plug.

• Use only correct isolation devices: lineprotecting cut-outs, fuses (screw typefuses removed from the holder), earthleakage trips and contactors.

• The electrical installation must have anisolation device which lets you discon-nect the appliance from the mains atall poles. The isolation device musthave a contact opening width of mini-mum 3 mm.

• Use this appliance in a household en-vironment.

• Do not change the specification of thisappliance.

• Make sure that the ventilation open-ings are not blocked.

• Do not let the appliance stay unatten-ded during operation.

• Deactivate the appliance after eachuse.

• Be careful, when you open the appli-ance door while the appliance is in op-eration. Hot air can release.

• Do not operate the appliance with wethands or when it has contact with wa-ter.

• Do not apply pressure on the opendoor.

• Do not use the appliance as a worksurface or as a storage surface.

• Always keep the appliance doorclosed when the appliance is in opera-tion.

• Open the appliance door carefully.The use of ingredients with alcoholcan cause a mixture of alcohol and air.

• Do not let sparks or open flames tocome in contact with the appliancewhen you open the door.

• Do not put flammable products oritems that are wet with flammableproducts in, near or on the appliance.

WARNING!Risk of damage to the appliance.

• To prevent damage or discoloration tothe enamel:– Do not put ovenware or other ob-jects in the appliance directly on thebottom.– Do not put aluminium foil directly onthe bottom of the appliance.– do not put water directly into the hotappliance.– do not keep moist dishes and foodin the appliance after you finish thecooking.– be careful when you remove or in-stall the accessories.

• Discoloration of the enamel has no ef-fect on the performance of the appli-

ance. It is not a defect in the sense ofthe warranty law.

• Use a deep pan for moist cakes. Fruitjuices cause stains that can be perma-nent.

2.3 Care and CleaningWARNING!Risk of injury, fire or damage tothe appliance.

• Before maintenance, deactivate theappliance and disconnect the mainsplug from the mains socket.

• Make sure the appliance is cold. Thereis the risk that the glass panels canbreak.

• Replace immediately the door glasspanels when they are damaged. Con-tact the Service.

• Be careful when you remove the doorfrom the appliance. The door is heavy!

• Clean regularly the appliance to pre-vent the deterioration of the surfacematerial.

• Remaining fat or food in the appliancecan cause fire.

• Clean the appliance with a moist softcloth. Only use neutral detergents. Donot use abrasive products, abrasivecleaning pads, solvents or metal ob-jects.

• If you use an oven spray, obey thesafety instructions on the packaging.

• Do not clean the catalytic enamel (ifapplicable) with any kind of detergent.

2.4 Internal light• The type of light bulb or halogen lamp

used for this appliance, is only forhousehold appliances. Do not use itfor house lighting.

WARNING!Risk of electrical shock.

• Before replacing the lamp, disconnectthe appliance from the power supply.

• Only use lamps with the same specifi-cations.

4. BEFORE FIRST USEWARNING!Refer to the Safety chapters.

4.1 Initial Cleaning• Remove all parts from the appliance.• Clean the appliance before first use.

Refer to chapter "Care andCleaning".

4.2 Setting the timeYou must set the time before youoperate the oven.

When you connect the appliance to theelectrical supply or after a power cut, theindicator for the Time function flashes.Press the + or - button to set the correcttime.After approximately five seconds, theflashing stops and the display shows thetime of day you set.

When you change the time, youmust not set the Duration orEnd ) function at the sametime.

5. DAILY USEWARNING!Refer to the Safety chapters.

To use the appliance, press the controlknob. The control knob comes out.

5.1 Activating anddeactivating the appliance1. Turn the control knob for the oven

functions to select an oven function.

2. Turn the control knob for the tem-perature to select a temperature.

3. To deactivate the appliance turn thecontrol knobs for the oven functionsand temperature to the off position.

Knob symbol, indicator or lamp(depends on the model - referto the product description):• The indicator comes on when

the oven heats up.• The lamp comes on when the

appliance operates.• The symbol shows whether the

knob controls one of the cook-ing zones, the oven functionsor the temperature.

5.2 Oven Functions

Oven function Application

Light To activate the lamp without a cooking func-tion.

True Fan Cooking To bake maximum on 3 shelf positions at thesame time and to dry food. Set the tempera-ture 20 - 40 °C lower than for ConventionalCooking.

Pizza Setting To bake food on 1 shelf position for a more in-tensive browning and a crispy bottom. Set thetemperature 20 - 40 °C lower than for Conven-tional Cooking.

Conventional Cooking To bake and roast on 1 shelf position.

Bottom Heat To bake cakes with crispy or crusty bottomsand to preserve food.

Defrost To defrost frozen food.

Grilling To grill flat food and to toast.

Fast Grilling To grill flat food in large quantities and to toast.

Turbo Grilling To roast larger joints of meat or poultry on 1shelf position. Also to gratinate and to brown.

6. CLOCK FUNCTIONS

Clock function Application

Time of day To show, set, or change the time.

Minute minder To set a countdown time. This function has no effecton the operation of the oven.

Duration To set the length of an oven operation.

End To set the switch-off time for an oven function.

You can use Duration andEnd at the same time if youwant the appliance to activateand deactivate automatically:first set the Duration and thenthe End .

6.1 Setting the clock functions

1. For Duration and End, set an ovenfunction and temperature. This is notnecessary for the Minute Minder.

2. Press the Selection button again andagain until the indicator for the nec-essary clock function flashes.

3. Press + or - to set the necessaryclock function.The display shows the indicator forthe clock function you set. When theset time ends, the indicator flashesand an acoustic signal sounds fortwo minutes.

With the Duration and End func-tions, the appliance deactivatesautomatically.

4. Press a button to stop the signal.5. Turn the knob for the oven functions

and the knob for the temperature tothe off position.

6.2 Cancelling the clockfunctions1. Push the Selection button again and

again until the necessary function in-dicator flashes.

2. Push and hold the button -.After some seconds the clock func-tion goes out.

7.1 Inserting the oven accessories

The deep pan and the wire shelf haveside edges. These edges and the shapeof the guide-bars are a special device toprevent the cookware from slipping.

Installing the wire shelf and the deeppan togetherPut the wire shelf on the deep pan. Pushthe deep pan between the guide-bars ofone of the oven levels.

7.2 Trivet and Grill- / Roastingpan

WARNING!Be careful when you remove theaccessories from a hot appliance.There is a risk of burns.

You can use the trivet to roast largerpieces of meat or poultry on one shelfposition:• Put the trivet into the deep pan so

that the supports of the wire shelfpoint up.

• Put the deep pan into the oven on thenecessary shelf position.

You can use the trivet to grill flatdishes in large quantities and to toast:• Put the trivet into the deep pan so

that the supports of the wire shelfpoint down.

• Put the deep pan into the oven on thenecessary shelf position.

8. ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS

8.1 Cooling fanWhen the appliance operates, the cool-ing fan activates automatically to keep

the surfaces of the appliance cool. If youdeactivate the appliance, the cooling fancan continue to operate until the appli-ance cools down.

9. HELPFUL HINTS AND TIPS

9.1 Inner side of the doorIn some models, on the inner side ofthe door you can find:• The numbers of the shelf positions.• Information about the heating func-

tions, recommended shelf positionsand temperatures for typical dishes.

The temperature and bakingtimes in the tables are guidelinesonly. They depend on the rec-ipes and the quality and quantityof the ingredients used.

9.2 BakingGeneral instructions• Your new oven can bake or roast dif-

ferently to the appliance you had be-fore. Adapt your usual settings (tem-perature, cooking times) and shelf po-sitions to the values in the tables.

• With longer baking times, you can de-activate the oven approximately 10 mi-nutes before the end of the bakingtime and then use the residual heat.

When you cook frozen food, the traysin the oven can twist during baking.When the trays become cold again,the distortions are gone.

How to use the Baking Tables• The manufacturer recommends that

you use the lower temperature thefirst time.

• If you cannot find the settings for aspecial recipe, look for the one that isalmost the same.

• You can extend baking times by 10 –15 minutes if you bake cakes on morethan one level.

• Cakes and pastries at different heightsdo not always brown equally at first. Ifthis occurs, do not change the tem-perature setting. The differencesequalize during the baking procedure.

9.3 Tips on baking

9.7 Roasting• Use heat-resistant ovenware to roast

(refer to the instructions of the manu-facturer).

• You can roast large roasting joints di-rectly in the deep pan (if present) oron the wire shelf above the deep pan.

• Roast lean meats in the roasting tinwith the lid. This keeps the meat moresucculent.

• All types of meat that can be brownedor have crackling can be roasted in theroasting tin without the lid.

• We recommend that you cook meatand fish weighing 1 kg and above inthe oven.

• To prevent the meat juices or fat fromburning onto the pan, put some liquidinto the deep pan.

• If necessary, turn the roast (after 1 / 2 -2 / 3 of the cooking time).

• Baste large roasts and poultry withtheir juices several times during roast-ing. This gives better roasting results.

• You can deactivate the appliance ap-proximately 10 minutes before theend of the roasting time, and use theresidual heat.

Notes on cleaning:• Clean the front of the appliance with a

soft cloth with warm water and acleaning agent.

• To clean metal surfaces, use a usualcleaning agent.

• Clean the appliance interior after eachuse. Then you can remove dirt moreeasily and it does not burn on.

• Clean stubborn dirt with a specialoven cleaner.

• Clean all accessories after each useand let them dry. Use a soft cloth withwarm water and a cleaning agent.

Removing the shelf supports

You can remove the shelf supports toclean the side walls.1. Pull the front of the shelf support

away from the side wall.

Installing the shelf supportsInstall the shelf supports in the oppositesequence.

Before you change the lamp:• Deactivate the appliance.• Remove the fuses from the fuse box or

deactivate the circuit breaker.

Replacing the lamp at the cavityceiling:1. Turn the lamp glass cover counter-

clockwise to remove it.2. Clean the glass cover.3. Replace the lamp with a suitable 300

°C heat-resistant lamp.4. Install the glass cover.

10.3 Oven ceilingYou can fold down the heating elementon the oven ceiling to clean the ovenceiling easily.

WARNING!Deactivate the appliance beforeyou fold down the heating ele-ment. Make sure that the appli-ance is cold. There is a risk ofburns.

Folding down the heating element1. Remove the shelf supports.

2. Hold the heating element with twohands at the front.

3. Pull it forwards against the springpressure and out along the supportson the two sides.

4. The heating element folds down.You can clean the oven ceiling.

Installing the heating element1. Install the heating element in the

opposite sequence.

Install the heating element cor-rectly above the supports on theinner walls of the appliance.

2. Install the shelf supports.

10.4 Cleaning the oven door

Removing the door and the glass panels

You can remove the oven door and theinternal glass panels to clean it. Thenumber of glass panels is different fordifferent models.

WARNING!Be careful when you remove thedoor from the appliance. Thedoor is heavy.

opening position (approximately 70°angle).

5. Put the door with the outer sidedown on a soft cloth on a stable sur-face. This is to prevent scratches.

6. Hold the door trim (B) on the topedge of the door at the two sidesand push inwards to release the clipseal.

7. Pull the door trim to the front to re-move it.

8. Hold the door glass panels on theirtop edge one by one and pull themup out of the guide.

9. Clean the glass panel with waterand soap. Dry the glass panel care-fully.

Installing the door and theglass panelsWhen the cleaning is completed, installthe glass panels and the oven door. Do

the above steps in the opposite se-quence. Install the smaller panel first,then the larger.
