Garden Club News Greetings fellow gardeners! A smile crept over our faces when we saw a few days of warmer temperatures and the beginnings of a thaw. This has been an unusually long, bitterly cold winter. The calendar says spring is officially here, but here at the Garden Club, we are suspicious. Our last meeting was a crafty evening of painting garden signs. Paints and signs in various stages of completion were available for Garden Club members to paint. Many beautiful creations were made for keeping and for selling at the Spring Fling. Don’t forget to visit our tables at the Spring Fling on May 26th. Save some room in your gardening budget to purchase some inexpensive annuals and perennials and support local trade and a community group that’s been operating in Ever‐green, with your support, for 15 years! On Monday, April 16th at 6:30 pm, members are asked to meet at the Community Hall for our April meeting. We aren’t sure if we will be having a speaker or doing a greenhouse tour, so be prepared with your walking shoes, and maybe your wallet, just in case we do step out. Gardening in Evergreen and doing it all alone? Why not share ideas, containers, annuals and perennials with a group of 20‐30 people in your neighbourhood? Community League members can join for a $10 annual membership and a Community League membership is between $10‐$20. For the price of a fancy perennial you have access to experienced veterans of the trade as well as free trips, con‐tainers, plants and events. You’ll also have something to do with friends during the winter months to keep your heart in the garden. Join us in April as a guest to see what we’re all about. For more information call or text Cori at 780‐860‐3582 or email Margaret at [email protected]. Join the Club, share a few laughs, meet new friends, and go home feeling good.
