Screen Printing OverviewScreen printing (also known as silkscreen) is a technique that uses a woven mesh to support an

ink-blocking stencil to receive a desired image. Basically it is the process of using a stencil to apply ink onto apparel items. In addition to traditional spot-color inks, we offer specialty inks and art distressing to make your logo or design really stand out. We also offer 4-color process inks for white and light colors and can achieve simulated 4-color process looks on dark colors. You can learn more about these techniques below. Our screen print decorators will determine the best method of separation based on the artwork, garment color, garment style and qty.

Screen Print Methods:

Spot-color: Spot-color images are printed with specific Pantone colors. Spot-color art may be solid logos or contain halftones. This technique is effective in printing cartoons, typog-raphy, logos and line art.

Four-color Process: The process of reproduc-ing a full-color design from the original artwork to the screen printed surface using the four Primary Colors of CMYK - Cyan, Magenta, Yellow,

& Key (Black). These process-color inks are transparent and blend to make the proper colors.Simulated Process: Process uses spot color inks and special separations using halftones to

achieve a similar photo-realistic look as four color process.Soft-Hand: The feel of ink on a substrate’s surface. A “soft” hand has a light feel.Specialty Inks: Offered in several varieties, including clear soft-hand for tonal looks as well as

liquid silver and gold for impact.Underbase: A think layer of ink (typically white) is laid down beneath the overall design and acts

like a primer. The second coat is then applied on top of the underbase to create the desired look/color. Using underbase is an accurate way to assure color matching, especially with PMS inks.

Embroidery OverviewEmbroidery is the handicraft of decorating fabric and other materials with

needle and thread. Embroidery can also incorporate other materials such as sequins or beads.

Fabric - The fabrics least suited for embroidery are thin or flimsy fabrics like silk, rayon, or super fine t-shirts. Holes from the sewing needle are likely to show on these very fine fabrics. Backing can be visibly noticeable on these garments, especially if they are white or light in color.

Thread - There are two main thread types used for embroidery. They are rayon and polyester. Each type has its advantages and is selected based on the logo or design and type off fabric to be sewn. Rayon thread is shiny and smooth, It has a soft finish and is best for more delicate or high end clothing including corporate apparel, polos, and garments intended for retail sale. Polyester thread is the more utilitarian thread and is used more often in uniforms for sports team or indus-trial industries. It has a more matte appearance and is durable and strong. Polyester thread is also known for its ability to withstand bleaching and detergent.

Some Additional Decoration OptionsDigital Printing - Also referred to as direct-to-garment printing, this eco-friendly,

water-based process prints from a computer file right onto the garment, resulting in a soft, slightly washed looking design. A great option for low-quantity orders as well as multi-color designs.

Sequin Embroidery - Create eye-catching looks for women’s garments with sequin embroidery. One color sequin can be used in combination with multiple embroidery thread colors to create a single unique design.

Laser Appliqué - High-tech laser cut appliqué embellishment can be used to create a variety of looks. Choose from a large assortment of appliqué fabrics and colors to produce everything from classic to fashion designs in single or multiple layers.

Appliqué Patches - Patches use laser appliqué and embroidery to offer a fun, fashion embellishment on your hoodies and other garments. Patches are approxi-mately 4” x 4” and can be created with any of the stock appliqué fabric.

Reverse Appliqué - With a laser bridge machine, we take appliqué embellishment one step further with reverse appliqué. To achieve this look, we cut through the garment surface to reveal a layer of appliqué below. You can even combine reverse appliqué with embroidery or regular appliqué to create a multi-dimensional design.

Laser Etching - Utilizing laser technology, we can etch a design on a variety of fabrics. The end result differs by fabric, but is always a precise, clean mark that offers a unique, upscale look. Our laser can achieve smaller detailing than other laser machines. Take advantage of unique placements, such as across zippers and seams or down sleeves to create a design that looks like it’s part of the fabric.

Laser Tech Patches - A fashion forward branding option for micro-fleece, bonded or compressible jackets as well as many other performance garments.

Mixed Media - Mix it up. That’s right, go ahead and combine any number of deco-ration techniques to create Mixed Media masterpieces. Combine silkscreen printing with appliqué or embroidery and rhinestones to create retail-inspired garments for any client.

PRODUCTION TIME: Standard production is 7-10 business days. Pro-duction time begins once a complete Purchase Order, acceptable art files, proof approval, and garments are received.

RUSH SERVICE: Same Day - 100%, 2-3 Days - 50%, 4-6 Days - 25% with prior approval.

CANCELLATIONS: Order cancellations must be confirmed in writing. Cancellations prior to production will be billed for all charges incurred up to that point. Cancellations will not be accepted for finished prod-uct.

COPYRIGHTS: Appropriate use of copyright marks and payment of licensed property royalties are the responsibility of the customer. iClick reserves the right to request proof of copyright permission, however, a lack of request of proof does not diminish the burden on the cus-tomer, furthermore, customer agrees to hold harmless iClick, Inc. for any copyright infringement as a result of customer engaging iClick to print Copyrighted designs or logos without proper permission.

ART PROOFS & MOCKUPS: You will receive an electronic, digital proof of your design(s) within 24 hours, with our goal of 1 hour for most designs. This time is after receipt of your art and instructions. Product, ink or embroidery thread colors are not exact. Logo size and location are shown for mock-up purposes only. Exact size and location may vary slightly in final production.

ARTWORK: Included in our pricing is a 15 minute consultation with an in-house artist, performed via email, however, when necessary over

the phone.

VECTOR GRAPHICS: These are images composed of paths, and are generally created in Illustrator, CorelDraw or Freehand. They are expo-nentially scalable and still produce crisp, clean results. Please note, if using CorelDraw, you must submit your artwork as .EPS files. We do not accept .CDR files.

RASTER GRAPHICS: These are images composed of pixels and will tend to blur or become fuzzy when enlarged. Raster Graphics should be scaled to size and at 300dpi for clear results.Acceptable File Types: .AI, .EPS, .PDF

PRINTING ON YOUTH & ADULT GARMENTS: Unless specified in the quote and Purchase Order, it will be assumed that all garments will be printed with the same size artwork. If different size imprints are desired and specified, the print run charges and screen set up charges will be based on separate runs and billed accordingly. Please call us to discuss the possibility of creating your artwork to accommo-date all sizes.

DYE MIGRATION ON POLYESTER: Dye migration is a problem caused by dyes and inks in polyester fibers that transfer to and change the color of plastisol inks. The colors most likely to migrate are red, maroon, kelly green, and some dark blues and unfortunately, there is no guarantee of consistency when dye migration occurs.

DISCHARGE LIMITATIONS: Discharge inks only work on 100% cotton fabrics. An exact PMS match is not guaranteed and the imprint color will vary based on the shirt color and dye lots.

FABRIC REACTIONS TO HEAT: Fabrics may shrink slightly when exposed to heat during the drying process which is necessary for proper curing of the imprint inks. Some brands of garments will expe-rience curling of the tags and shrink when exposed to heat, this is an assumed risk of decoration after the shirts have been manufactured.

SPOILAGE: Our normal spoilage rate is insignificant, however, it is unavoidable in the decoration process. iClick operates within a 1% spoilage allowance per logo position for orders over 1000 prints, 2% for all orders over 144 prints and 5% for orders less than 144 prints, with a minimum of 1 piece. If exact quantities are needed, blanks must be provided to cover the spoilage allowance of the total order for each size, color, and style.

SHIPPING: Our standard shipping carrier is UPS, unless otherwise requested in writing on the Purchase Order. Complete packing and shipping information must be provided and finalized 48 hours in advance of your ship date. Shipping charges are based on average weight, distance traveled, and declared value. We do not add shipping insurance unless instructed on the Purchase Order, declared values are your responsibility to declare. 2-Day outbound ground shipping guarantee applies to Silkscreen and Embroidery orders only at stan-dard production timelines.QUALITY DISPUTES: All disputes or claims must be made within 30 days of order delivery, and receipt of merchandise.

UNIQUE LOCATIONS: Printing over zippers, seams, collars or other unique locations can lead to ink buildup, coverage and consistency issues. We do not advise printing in these locations, and if instructed to print as such, iClick can not be held responsible for these issues.

SPECIAL MATERIALS: In the event that iClick orders special materials such as heat transfers, specialty threads, appliqué material, ink addi-tives, etc as a result of a Purchase Order placed that requires such materials, customer agrees to pay, and is responsible for the cost of, the materials and a $41.64 (c) processing charge if the Purchase Order is cancelled.

CUSTOMER SUPPLIED EMBROIDERY FILES: iClick can not be held responsible for the quality of logos not digitized by us. We require a physical swatch sew-out and require sign-off on stitch count deter-mined by us, a $16.67 (c) sew-out fee applies. Any revisions necessary shall be charged at our standard Digitizing rates.
