INDICATION BAQSIMI is used to treat very low blood sugar

(severe hypoglycemia) in people with diabetes ages 4 years and above.

SELECT SAFETY INFORMATIONDo not use BAQSIMI if you have a tumor in the gland on top of

your kidneys (adrenal gland) called pheochromocytoma, you have a tumor in your pancreas called insulinoma, or if you are allergic to

WHAT IS BAQSIMI• BAQSIMI is a form of glucagon given as a puff

in the nose

• In a study, BAQSIMI raised blood sugar successfully* in 100%† of patients ages 4 through 16 within an average time of about 12 minutes

BAQSIMI should still be given in a low blood sugar emergency even if your child is passed out, because BAQSIMI does not need to be inhaled. It should be given even if your child’s nose is congested or your child has used decongestants.

BAQSIMI may cause serious side effects, including:High blood pressure. BAQSIMI can cause high blood pressure in certain people with tumors in their adrenal glands.

Low blood sugar. BAQSIMI can cause certain people with tumors in their pancreas to have low blood sugar.

Serious allergic reaction. Call your doctor or get medical help right away if you have a serious allergic reaction including: rash, difficulty breathing, or low blood pressure.

WHEN TO USE BAQSIMIBAQSIMI is used when someone is having a low blood sugar emergency, where the person is unable to eat or drink and needs help from someone else.

Let those close to you and your child know what the possible signs are so they can be more prepared for an emergency. It’s important that you and the people around your child know what to do to help, and where his or her BAQSIMI is located (i.e., in a backpack, in a night table drawer, or at the school nurse’s office).

Possible signs of a low blood sugar emergency include:

Lack of coordination

Seizure or loss of consciousness

Dizziness

Shaking or sweating

Irritability

Difficulty thinking and speaking

HOW TO USE BAQSIMIRead the Instructions for Use for BAQSIMI before using it.BAQSIMI is used to treat very low blood sugar (severe hypoglycemia) that requires help from others. You should make sure you show your caregivers, family, and friends where you keep BAQSIMI and explain how to use it by sharing these instructions. They need to know how to use BAQSIMI before an emergency happens. • Do not remove the shrink-wrap or open the Tube

until you are ready to use it

Preparing the Dose:• Remove the shrink-wrap by pulling on red stripe

• Open the Lid and remove the Device from the Tube. Caution: Do not press the Plunger until ready to give the dose

After Giving the Dose:• Call for emergency medical help right away

• If the person is unconscious, turn the person on their side

• Throw away the used Device and Tube

• Encourage the person to eat as soon as possible. When they are able to safely swallow, give the person a fast-acting source of sugar, such as juice. Then encourage the person to eat a snack, such as crackers with cheese or peanut butter

• If the person does not respond after 15 minutes, another dose may be given, if available
