• Germs are invisible• They live on & in our
bodies• Always present
WASH AWAY GERMS
• Some germs can harm us
• Important to stop them from spreading
• Wash your hands often!
WASH HANDS OFTEN!
• You leave germs on everything you touch!
• Dirty hands spread germs
WHEN TO WASH HANDS
• Before touching food or eating
• After going to the bathroom
• After doing messy or dirty work
• Before touching cuts• After touching pets

• Skin covers your body• Keeps germs out• Like the peel of an
orange
CLEAN & COVER BOO-BOOS
• Germs can get into your body through cuts
• Clean cuts• Treat them with
ointment that kills germs
• Protect them from germs with band aids
BRUSH AWAY GERMS
• Germs rot our teeth• They give us bad
breath!• BRUSH THEM AWAY!
STOP GERMS!
• Certain germs can make you sick
• Wash hands before eating
• Wash hands after the restroom
• Don’t put hands in mouth or nose
• Use a tissue!

• Germs live on clothing
• Sports equipment• Towels• Toothbrushes • Razors • Food & drinks

• Touching surfaces others have touched
• Then touching your nose, mouth, eyes, open cuts

• Drinking or eating after someone else
• Contaminated food and water

• Insects
SEE A DOCTOR
• If your cut doesn’t heal
• Red, swollen, painful• Pus or drainage• See a doctor!
MEDICINE
• Sometimes doctors give us medicines
• They help us get better
• Medicines are strong, take only a little
• Never take medicines unless your parents give it to you
BEE HEALTHY!
• Eat many different kinds of food
• Exercise • Keep active
BEE HEALTHY! • Keep clean• Wash hands often• Using a tissue stops
germs from spreading

• Don’t share personal hygiene items
• Don’t touch blood or other people’s injuries

unless a grownup gives it to you!
