Big Bunch

Group Program
•16 groups meet weekly or bi-weekly
•Meet once a week from 7-9 pm

• 10-12 youth and 5-6 adult mentors

One to One Program
• aka. Big & Little Brother, Big & Little Sister, Big & Little Buddy and Couples for Kids Program
• Meet 2-4 times a month for a year• Flexible schedule• Outings planned by match

Teen Mentoring
• Staff supervised program • High school students develop mentoring
skills by mentoring elementary school children
• Happens on school property during school hours

In School Mentoring
•Meet one hour a week
•During school hours and on school property
• Program in 82 schools
•Excellent corporate program

Go Girls Program
• Girls age 12-14 mentored by young women ages 18-25
•Encourages active living, healthy eating and self-esteem
• Seven Week program
•Agency currently piloting a similar program for Boys called Game On!

Host Conversation Club
• Piloted in 2008• Funded by Citizenship and Immigration
Canada• Assists newcomer youth with social
integration and academic success• Newcomer youth practice their English
skills, receive homework help and form relationships with other youth making them to feel welcomed
New program to assist the children of new immigrant families

Tim Hortons Bowl for Kids Sake
• 700 Participants in 3 municipalities
• 7 events in Feb and March
• 140 participating companies
• 16 sponsors
• Raised $154,000

• Networking event with inspirational keynote speaker
• 300 in attendance

Community Campaign for Kids
• Encourages companies who host holiday parties or picnics to incorporate a fun activity that asks staff or customers for $2
• Encourages communities to host a fun neighbourhood block party where residents get together for Kids Sake and donate $2
• This program raises awareness in addition to funds

Ambassadors Program
• A Community focused networking group that learns about youth related issues and how Big Brothers Big Sisters of Peel provides support
• 2 hour meeting once a month– ½ hour networking– ½ hour education– Network Development
• Excellent program for sales staff and community minded citizens
