Course 2: P.G. Diploma in Horticulture (Nursery Management and Seed Production)The primary requirements for successful growth of Agriculture sector is quality seed and

planting material. Even today, quality seeds of superior varieties are difficult to obtain and trueto type planting material is not available in large quantities. Since, there are no accreditednurseries of repute which can provide such planting material. The primary reason for thisbottleneck appears to be the lack of technically skilled persons who can produce clonal plantsof the superior performing varieties in bulk to enable establishment of commercial orchards orvegetable farms. The course has been designed for Post Graduate Diploma in Horticulture(Nursery Management and Seed Production) as a one Year Programme of two semesters.

Course 2: M.Sc. in Human Genomics & Proteomics

Genomics is  a  discipline  in genetics that  applies recombinant  DNA, DNAsequencing methods,  and bioinformatics to sequence,  assemble,  and analyze  the  function andstructure of genomes. Genomics has provided applications in many fields, including medicine, biotechnology, anthropology and  other social  sciences  Proteomics,  thelarge-scale analysis of proteins, will contribute greatly to our understanding of gene function inthe post-genomic era. After the revolution in molecular biology exemplified by the ease ofcloning by DNA methods, proteomics will add to our understanding of the biochemistry ofproteins, processes and pathways for years to come.
