The “International Winter Sports Week” was held in Chamonix, France in 1924. It was later given the idea of the first Winter Olympics.

Host Greece won the most medals, (47) at the first Winter Olympics.

Only 4 athletes won medals that were from Greece in the first Winter Olympics.

Greece participated at the Winter Olympics in 1936 in Germany, it was the first time that they ever competed.

Greece also competed in 2010 in Vancouver, British Columbia, and Canada.

The Geography Of Greece

Greece is located in Southern Europe, and its mainland located in the Southern end of Balkan Peninsula. 80% of Greece is mountainous whereas, the Western part of Greece has many lakes and wetlands.

History Of Greece!

Some people first decided to move to Greece about 55,000 to 57,000 yeas ago. By 6,000 B.C. more and more people came and lived in Greece. According to archaeological sources, Greece began in prehistory and continued on in our modern day. Greece’s history is divided into 3 different eras: Acropolis, Delphi, and Minoan Crete.
