LocationOnly a handful of private homes have direct access to thewhite sand beach. The warm, clear waters of the IndianOcean are ideal for body boarding and swimming all yearround. Fishing boats land in the morning and fresh fish canbe bought directly from the boats. Around the rockyheadland from the cove lies a long, curving bay with furtherenticing spots for sunbathing and beach combing. Boating,fishing and snorkelling trips can be arranged, when guestsmay encounter pods of playful dolphins and migratingwhales.
The house is located on Seenimodara Bay, a cashew grovejust outside the fishing village of Tangalle, on the southcoast of the island. Among the nearby sites is the 3rdcentury BC Mulkirigala Temple, cut deep into the rock,with its ancient paintings and statues of Buddhas. The areais also well known for bird watching, animal safaris andjungle tours. Parrots, fishing eagles and monkeys can bespotted from the pool terrace, and peacocks often leavewet footprints on the floor of the pavilion.
Transport links 190 km from Colombo airport on the coast road (approxfive hours). The journey time can be reduced by at least anhour in the early mornings or late evenings, and there areinteresting spots and diversions along the way, particularlythe town of Galle.
