From the Principal

This week it has been a pleasure to welcome our school

improvement reviewers, Leah Mullane and Tillea Hoskins, to

Bauple State School. Over the past two days the review team

have worked hard to gather evidence and deliver a report about

our school community. We sincerely thank parents, staff,

community members and students for openly and honestly

engaging in this process.

The review team have briefed staff on their executive report

summary and we look forward to sharing this with you all over the

coming weeks. They have also asked us to extend a big thank you

for your welcome, your engagement in the process and

congratulated our school community on the work and progress

over the past three years.

School reviews offer an opportunity for us to reflect on our work and celebrate our success. Our work on improving reading,

strengthening a positive school culture, aligning our teaching and learning with the Australian Curriculum, and embedding our

Responsible Student Behaviour Plan (now Student Code of Conduct) were all evident and celebrated during this process.

Congratulations to the Bauple State School Community. We look forward to planning the journey to come based on the

feedback and the new identified improvement agenda. Stay tuned!

The review has also highlighted how lucky we are to have such a strong, supportive P&C Association. Your fundraising,

volunteer work and contributions are not unnoticed! Currently our P&C are holding a chocolate fundraiser. We are so

appreciative of families and friends who have been supporting this. The P&C makes an annual contribution to subsidise

stationery (textbooks), purchases end of year book prizes for all students, provides for our Year 6 Graduation, and makes an

annual contribution to the school budget so we can purchase additional curriculum resources for our students. The current

fundraiser will contribute towards an excursion/event to be determined over coming weeks. This will assist all families and

students participate, as well as ensuring contributions for curriculum and other areas can continue. We invite you to join us for

P&C meetings to hear more about this process and contribute to ideas and plans for our school.

MARYBOROUGH SMALL SCHOOL SPORT’S DAY

Well done Bauple! Our young athletes did their very best at our small school carnival last week. We are really proud of you

all. A special congratulations to Jamie on achieving age champion and overall male athlete on the day. We also congratulate

all of our students on your marching! We had many positive comments about your superb marching - “Left, left, left, right,

left!”

FAREWELL MRS BRISCHKE & MRS MATHIESON

It was wonderful to see our very much loved Mrs

Brischke and Mrs Mathieson recognised at

Maryborough Small School Sport’s Day for their

many years of hard work and dedication. Both of

these ladies will be retiring this year, so this was

their last Small Schools Sport’s Day. They have both

contributed to the success of our sports events for

more than two decades, ensuring our local students

have the opportunity to participate and succeed.

We thank them for their many voluntary hours with

a big smile and a whole lot of heart.

SMALL SCHOOL CLUSTER EXCURSION TO THEEBINE

We are off on another adventure! This Friday we will be taking the bus to Theebine State

School to work with students and teachers from Theebine, Gundiah, Gunalda and Woolooga. This is an awesome opportunity

for our students to meet new friends and learn with others. We are super excited that we will get to work with author,

Deano. Deano will be running a writer’s workshop with our senior students and then performing and entertaining us all with

his stories and songs! Kieron and his AFL team will be coming along to run some fun activities to get our students active. The

bus will be leaving at 8:30 am (as soon as the bus run is done). Car students please ensure you are at school 8:20 am so you

are ready to board the bus promptly. All students will need to wear their uniform, hat, sunscreen, and please bring your

water bottles and lunch (students getting the sausage meal deal, please don’t forget to also bring a fruit snack and

maybe a little afternoon snack for later in the day).

SPORTING SCHOOLS

Our students have really enjoyed participating in the AFL Skills Development clinics. Thanks to Kieron, Maryborough AFL and

Sporting Schools for helping us get active and fit! We are hoping that we are successful in getting our Term 3 grant approved.

Stay tuned to hear about next term’s sport!

PLANNING DAYS

I will be working with teachers and principals from our cluster/region over the coming week as we plan and prepare for Term

3. Many minds, many ideas, many hands lead to great opportunities for us all.

REPORT CARDS

Report cards will be distributed next term. We will also be offering parent interviews at the beginning of next term. We look

forward to chatting to you then!

P&C NEWS

Firstly, a big thank you to those families that have helped out with our current Cadbury fundraiser, it is fantastic to see the

number of boxes in the tuckshop decreasing and the money is starting to come in! We really appreciate your efforts and

there are still a few boxes available, so if you are yet to collect a box or would like another box to sell please come and see

Bec. So far we have made around $250 profit, so still have a way to go to get to our target of $1,000. We have a fundraising

target poster on display in the new P&C noticeboard next to the tuckshop, so don’t forget to check in and see how we are

tracking when you are at school!

Our annual Tombola is set for Friday 23rd July and we are asking our families to be generous and please donate prizes for

this fundraising event. It would also be fantastic to see lots of our Bauple families attend this fun evening . It is a great chance

to win wonderful prizes, socialise and most importantly, support the P&C and our great little school!

CLASSROOM NEWS

Our students have really been working hard on improving their punctuation. Ask them about what their writing goals are!

Our review team spoke with students about their learning. They were really impressed that our students were able to

articulate what they were learning, how they were going, how they knew, how they could improve and where to go to next.

Quiz your child/ren on their learning. We are sure you’ll be impressed!
