PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
University of California, Davis 2015, 2016 Teaching Assistant, FOR 212—Courtroom Testimony & Scientific Evidence Winter Quarter 2016 Teaching Assistant, CHE 002B—General Chemistry 2B Winter Quarter 2015
! Taught +20 students laboratory classes and discussions. ! 4.83/5.00 overall rating from student feedback in chemistry. ! Scored in 92. Percentile at chemistry TA qualification tests. ! Graded assignments and exams.
Rio Tinto Alcan 2013, 2015 Environmental Affairs Specialist Summer 2015 Heat Stress Analyst Summer 2013
I was hired two separate summers to do special assignments for the Rio Tinto Alcan laboratory in Iceland. I had to develop my own methods and procedures in both cases and work independently to obtain enough reliable data.
! Prepared and analyzed dust and fluorine gas filters collected actively by a pump. ! Measured worker heat stress and suggested proper changes. One department was completely reorganized
based on my results. ! Measured pollution in staff-‐operated machines. Gas mask requirements in machines were based on my results.
! Reported all findings to appropriate managers and department leaders.
Hrafnista Retirement Home 2014 Payroll Administrator and Human Resources I was hired for 6 months by the payroll administration of the retirement home chain Hrafnista in Iceland. Even though I had no relevant experience, the manager believed I had the right spirit and attitude for the job. I quickly learned how to operate the payroll software. The manager was so happy with my fast adaptation that after only 2 months I was put in charge of the largest company branch, which has about 200 staff members.

EDUCATION
Master of Science, Forensic Science, (3.70) , Est. June 2016• University of California, Davis, USA • Special emphasis on forensic toxicology and analytical chemistry • Thesis in progress under the guidance of Donald Land, PhD: Cannabidiol quantification from spiked
brownies using a modified QuEChERS extraction and GC-‐MSD analysis. • President of Forensic Science Student Organization for the year 2015
Bachelor of Science, Biochemistry & Molecular biology, (First Class), 2014 • University of Iceland, Reykjavik, Iceland.
• Undergraduate Thesis: Comparison of phospholipid composition of lipid rafts in rat heart, isolated with two different methods—using detergent and detergent-‐free high salt solution.
• Member in the chemistry club for two years. Performed chemistry shows in front of the public multiple times. My connections and inspiration got the club a chemical sponsorship from the main chemical importer in Iceland.
• First student to graduate with a bachelor’s degree in biochemistry and molecular biology from the University of Iceland.
TECHNOLOGY SKILLS
Proficient in Excel, Word, Outlook, Photoshop, PowerPoint, ChemDraw, ChemStation.
