Yehoshua wanted to see how to conquer Ai, so he sent 2 spies. When the spies came back they said there aren’t many people.

Yehoshua sent 3000 men to Ai because he thought it would be easy, they did not have many people in Ai and they lost 36 men

B’nei Yisrael had lost 36 soldiers because they had stolen something valuable from Yericho and hid it under a tent.

Why did 36 soldiers die in Ai?

Achan was killed in Ai Because of what he did.

Yehoshua had a clever plan to wait behind Ai. He led a smaller army

Yehoshua’s s small army pretended to run away, therefore there was nobody guarding Ai. The big army could just go into Ai and conquer it.
