The Life Cycle of a Bat

When a baby bat is born, it weighs about one fourth of its mothers weights.

Hibernating begins and bats eat a lot of food to survive in the long winter.

Bats can live up 20 years in the wild.

Bats Help the Earth

If we did not have bats, our planet would be swarmed with mosquitoes .

Bats eat up to 600 to 900 insects an hour. Bats eat mosquitoes, cut worms, June beetles, stink

bugs, and leaf hoppers.

Attracting Bats

Bats need a place to rest at night. Trees are good, but if you have no trees you can

build a bat house. Also night blooming flowers attract insect which

attract bats. You can see there are many ways to attract bats, and

bats go through many changes in their life cycle. Now you know how to attract bats to Clark Elementary.

As you can see bats are very helpful to the world. We are going to attract bats here at Clark

Elementary. If you you ever see a bat you are not just seeing a

bat you are seeing a very helpful only flying mammal.
